In addition to the above, it has an i5 processor, Bluetooth 4.0, webcam, wireless keyboard and mouse, 6 USB ports, 1 TB hard drive, 6GB memory, and Windows 8.1 pre-installed. Also, if you ever wanted to upgrade the memory, it seems like a simple process (information on the Lenovo website). I am very pleased with my purchase so far!
First impression as I unwrapped the machine had me bummed. The screen had a section of glue on it. Not sure how it got onto the screen, but I was concerned. However, it came off with some water and an isopropyl wipe easily. I set up the stand (easy enough) & plugged it in. It picked up my wi-fi network and Microsoft account & I was in business in no time. But then it had an issue updating a critical 8.1 update. In fact, for several days it wouldn't update the software & made the use of OneDrive inoperable. Since Windows isn't my favorite operating system, I was getting frustrated and thought it would take hours on the phone with someone with an accent trying to trouble shoot. Luckily in a few days, it took the update & OneDrive came online! The only issue now is Lenovo Motion control. It doesn't seem to work & I haven't had the time to trouble shoot.
The PC looks amazing. I love the wide screen & how I can have two Excel worksheets open side by side.Read more ›
UPDATE: I wanted to up the memory to the maximum. As noted below it was not easy finding it...at least online...... I ordered two sticks from datamemorysystem. They came quickly and I was able to install them in five minutes. They appear to be working well. Have put the machine through a few intensive process and it is most definitely running faster. NOTE: you will notice that the fan is rather loud on this system. Not earth shattering but if you have no other noise in the room you will notice it. I am not concerned about this at all. I would rather have a slightly noisy fan rather than a hot processor. This noise happens regardless of power settings. I run mine at high performance. Even at standard the fan sounds the same.
Heat is the enemy. I have started a ticket with Lenovo on this issue just to see if there is anything to worry about. I bought the 4 year warranty from them so if it goes bad......free fix...
All in ones come in many different iterations.. This one is very unique due to it's 29 inch screen. You will notice at once the loss of height BUT you will also quickly discover the beauty of using the Lenovo app to create a custom split screen that is static.... Static in that once you click on the app icon in the system tray and set it up your programs will simply load into the next available opening.
You have multiple monitor mode on one screen.....and it is huge.
I spent a lot of time deciding on this machine.Read more ›
