Poor controls ruin a great monitor

If you are going to hook one PC and one keyboard and one mouse, this will be ok. If you are thinking about multiple connections...I would advise a hard pass. The controls on this thing make me wish I was never born - so frustrating. The instructions are perhaps the worst I have seen and make Ikea's instructions look like a literature masterpiece. And when they says bezel less...it is crap. Huge bezel on this.

Bought this used-like new from "prycedin". To my surprise, the item came well packaged within a day of ordering it. As expected there is a minor defect but its not enough reason for me to return it. Overall great screen for the value. Let me clarify that I did not buy this monitor for the kvm feature. I use this mainly for productivity purposes and light gaming. So far I have no complaints, but will update if anything comes up

The reviews are spot on. Great graphics quality, at least on DCS well powered. Stupid interface. Not frustrating, but stupid, maddening. Otherwise superb. For a huge screen it doesnt seem it on the desk due to its slim, very sleek design. The screen is easily mounted and adjustable with ease out of the box. Set up is obvious. I like the curve. As I use readers, a flat screen that long would play with my focus and likely cause headaches. Cant say I din’t still get them with heavy use, but the over all experience is grand. Highly recommend.

BUYER BEWARE!!! The invoice says that it was NEW. This product was NOT NEW!! it has a sticker on it that says REFURBISHED, and I could tell by how the contents were packaged with a clear plastic bag. When it arrived the box was in such bad shape I thought the monitor was going to be broken. This monitor is out of warranty as if to say Lenovo does not support this product anymore THERE IS NOT WARRANTY and only supports for Windows. I cannot control the on-screen controls for any of the monitor settings except the video display port.

KVM aspect is garbage, User Interface is terrible, Picture is good

Physically this monitor is well built and has a great variety of inputs and USB ports. The screen is nice picture quality and the 43" super ultrawide format is a little less overwhelming than the 49" and the 32:10 aspect ratio makes it a little more practical for productivity workers that need a little more vertical space In practice the firmware running on the monitor destroys the experience.

So here is where it is abysmal.

KVM Switch isn't a real KVM Switch solution. You can plug in multiple PCs, and each of them have a USB using one of the two USBc Inputs. You have to go through the clunky button based menu to switch the video input, and then separately go and switch the USB input (even if you are using USBc for Video). In the end, it is a pain, and requires WAY too many button presses to make it practical to use as a KVM switch. Also the Audio input only comes in through your display connection, so for KVM switching you wont get audio switching.

When using two inputs simultaneously for Picture by Picture it splits the USB ports between the sources. So each PC gets a USB A port on the back. No way to associate USB ports to Video inputs.

Speaking of those two audio ports on the back, you will need to use both of them for the weird proprietary cable to hook up the RGB speaker around the base. The speaker is weak and isn't any better sound than you'd get from a $20 pair of speakers. I can't imagine anyone with a budget for this quality of monitor ever wanting to use such a low end speaker. Definitely don't plan on using it if you want better sound than say an Echo Dot.

So all of that is totally workable if you aren't planning on switching between multiple sources all that often, but here is where it really gets clunky and annoying and has me contemplating returning it, or selling it and getting a new screen.

The monitor reports itself into Windows (using the proper driver and included DisplayPort cable) as a 3280x2160 monitor. The monitor even shows that on the actual display menu! This monitor is a 3280x1200. So it makes for some weird settings to get it to recognize correctly and get the scaling set right. I have plugged in several thousand monitors in my life (I am an IT guy) I have NEVER had a monitor that was more difficult than this one to get it to display a nice crisp clear picture at it's native resolution. But once I got it all dialed in, it looks pretty good. I never did get it to get 2 inputs using 1920x1200 resolution side by side. It would only do 1080p with scaling. Setting it to 1920x1200 left weird gaps on each side of the two screens. My AMD Video Card driver did not recognize the Side By Side mode screens as 1920x1200 but rather some weird number like 2100somethingx1150something. Super strange. So I gave up on the side by side.

Every one of these things could be fixed with some better firmware and a better control app (Lenovo Artery is embarrassingly bad) but sadly the most recent firmware is from 2019, so we can assume it will never get an update to fix all the flaws.

One hardware flaw. It would be nice if there were more Audio in and outputs. The only audio out jack is in the little pop down port under the front of the screen.

I'd suggest buying a newer 43" super ultrawide that has fewer interface problems. This thing is a gorgeous mess of a monitor.

Has good "bones" -- no problem powering my 16" Macbook Pro under game stress. Great quality screen to my eye.

144mhz means good for gaming and for business / programming. I use it for both Windows (business and gaming) and OSX (programming). Love it.

Only thing I haven't figured out is the Radeon Pro settings software says FreeSync not supported, whereas monitor is supposed to support FreeSync2. This could be because FreeSync and FreeSync2 are different technologies and it's actually working fine as FreeSync2. I need to investigate further.

Edit: The two USB-C ports are effectively separate. They can be used to connect 2 different computers to the monitor, but they can not join into the same hub for 1 computer. I did end up buying the additional mini hub but I taped it under the table near my laptop, and then I connect it to a USB-C port on my laptop, next to where the monitor USB-C cable is plugged in (side by side). Then mostly hid and ran the keyboard/house/joystick wires to the mini hub under the table.
