I am from the Caribbean and I used my digicel sim card from back home and it worked instantly. The set up of the phone is easy.
One thing that I would like to make clear that I find really misleading is the fact that this device is only 32gbs while the ad on Amazon says 64gbs (very misleading). Only through my research on the device in the specifications did it state that the device is 32gbs .So read well and be careful with false advertising.
This device has a dual sim card holder and one can swap for a memory card Holder. Apps can be easily downloaded from the Google play store.
Over all great device for the price. This a pretty decently sized device but actually still remains suitable for day to day activities.
It's a Phablet =phone + tablet. A two in one if you will. Great for watching video's, studying and playing games.
Btw Snapchat sucks on this phone, so if your gonna purchase a phone based on Snapchat. This isn't the phone for you.
Hope I've helped you in whatever way.
For 150, it's hard to beat this phone. Large screen, very bright. Fast and relatively stable. I'm disappointed to be stuck on Android 6 but you can't have everything.
This is a big phone. Huge. There's more screen real estate here than an AmazonFire HD6. Heck, I've considered using one of them solely as a tablet.
There's a mild amount of skinning at play here, but I get around that using Nova Launcher and applying my own custom icons. Within the UI there's quite a few spelling and grammatical errors. I mean some real laugh out loud stuff. Hard to imagine they couldn't have patched that out since the November release of the phone.
I do worry about support here. Last security patch was June 2016. Between that and the glaring UI spelling/grammar errors, I wonder about Lenovo's long term intentions with regard to patches.
Aside from those concerns, I'm satisfied with the Phab 2. Not too many bells and whistles, but it's quick, attractive, stable and huge. All things I like in an Android phone.
Two week follow up - we added a 64GB MicroSD card and extended main storage to the card. After doing that, every newly installed application would crash. Changed it over to "removable" storage and problem was solved. I tried this with a few types of cards and of varying qualities. No matter what, we had the same results. That's mildly disappointing, but not a deal breaker.
