What should I expect to receive with my Amazon Renewed purchase and in what condition?
All Amazon Renewed laptop purchases will come with accessories that may not be original, but will be compatible and fully functional. Amazon Renewed products will be packaged in either original packaging or in a new and clean cardboard box. Microsoft laptops, tablets and desktop computers will come pre-installed with a Windows operating system that is supported by Microsoft. They will be equipped with authentic software licences and will have a genuine certificate of authenticity (COA) available. The products will have batteries that exceed 80% capacity relative to new. Some laptops may arrive with designs (laptop skins) on the outside of the device. Product will be restored to its original factory settings and will be in one of the following conditions:

- Cosmetic condition: Excellent (Screen: no scratches. Body: no signs of cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, etc.) will be visible when the product is held 12 inches away).

I purchased two of these over the holidays for my kids. The first thing I did was reset Windows to factory settings and format the drives. As it started to go through the Windows reinstall process I was prompted with the attached image. This is malware preinstalled on a machine from Amazon's Renewed program.
I am returning both laptops and just buying new from Lenovo. I'll likely never use Renewed again.
