Beyond the difficulty I had in using Windows 10, this device also has some real battery issues. While the device charges faster than the previous generation, it still takes a long time to fully charge (longer than my Surface Book which has a much larger battery), and once it's fully charged, it burns through the battery fairly quickly. If you were using this as a daily driver, it's unlikely it would make it through the day, and recharging wouldn't be a feasible option give how long it takes.
Overall, this is a really innovative device that I think Lenovo is over-designing. This type of product should not be intended to replace your daily driver; it should be designed as a secondary device that is helpful for a number of tasks where you need an extra screen or a place to take notes.
The thing is: how do I put on a screen protector or a cover protector? The screen is a notebook touchscreen, so perhaps there is no need for one, but what about the cover?
The magnetic pen is cool, but I'd prefer it with a clip for my pocket.
I love this machine!
The first thing you'd notice is its size. It's so small and so sleek. That's how notebook should look like in 2020. The finish, the shape, the design... everything is perfect. And it's not only small but so light. It's the ultimate travel computer.
The screen is awesome.
The keyboard is great. I love you can change it to almost any language. Can change to black, to white, bigger or smaller. In US layout, the keys are perfect. It has good feedback.
But it could be better. So here are the bad:
It needs more RAM. 4gb is just too little. I'm running it at 90% most of the time just by surfing.
The fingerprint reader is almost useless. Why didn't they put reader from any phone? It's also useless when in tablet mode. As it's on the el.paper side, you cannot use it to unlock the main screen. And you also cannot unlock the tablet screen because the program didn't access the reader at all.
That brings me to the tablets. The El.paper had a good feel but it is not very useful. As stated above, you cannot log into your account when in it. So when you start it, you're saving to generic account. If you start on your account, and the comp goes to sleep, when started again, you cannot access your notes because they are locked. You would have to unlock the comp again to access them. And you cannot do it in the tablet mode.
That brings you to be using main screen as tablet and OneNote. But then, what's the point of having the other tablet? It would be better for taking notes as it's not lit and this but disturbing others, it last longer on battery and it has good feel for writing. But it's just not practical.
The tattoo to open is great but it didn't work every time. Plus, when you talk it while placing it somewhere, it opens even when you don't want it to.
It needs full USB slot.
And it would be great if the pen was dockable. The comp is so small it's a pity you need case just to show the pen. Oh, the pen is magnetic but it's so weak it can be used only to hold it while on the desk. Not strong to hold the pen in any other than horizontal position.
