He demands respect and likes things a certain way—his way. He prefers his girls damaged, because damaged is exactly what Leon is inside. For each girl he helps find herself, made stronger by his vehement attention, Leon closes off more and more of his heart. And once his girls are no longer on the same “broken” level as he is, they are no longer of use to him.
It isn’t often Leon is unable to bend others to his compelling charm, so when it finally happens on New Year’s Eve, he explodes. Luckily, right-hand-woman—wholesome and sweet, Arriane—is there to step in and calm Leon down in the only way she knows how. After one night of passion—Leon’s way—Arriane’s entire life changes.
In love with her twisted and tortured boss, and unsure of her future, Arriane has a difficult decision to make. But once Leon learns the truth behind the secret she’s been hiding, the controlling man is determined to make her his at any cost. Even if it means compromise, forgiveness, and facing the demons of his past. Because sometimes, not everything can be Leon’s Way.
Howls from devils shake the walls as I lose my wits to the demons that were my father's. I own them, now finally inherit them all the way.
And f me if she doesn't f'ing enter. I'm in here, and I've lost my mind to the dread of being my father, and she-she- the one I protect, stands there round and scared under the arch of the door, defenseless in my storm.
^^^^That is my favorite piece of this story. It says and shows so much. It proves just as much, as well.
I loved the multi POV's, I loved the names, the heritage. I loved the conversations with and with out words. I loved the bagroom. I loved that actions truly spoke louder than words.
What happens when a one night stand with a sexy, dangerous man goes wrong? Arriane, employee at Smother nightclub, hooks up her boss, Leon in a moment of weakness. What the two of them never planned on was that this night would be the beginning an amazing journey.
Throughout the novel I had no idea what was coming next, and in a genre that often recycles the same stories over and over again, it made this one so very captivating.
In addition, I'm so used to reading about broken women that this story was a pleasant role reversal when the broken one happened to be Leon, a powerful man who keeps his demons on a tight leash. And the side characters ... Ingela omg, please oh please tell me she gets her own book! Everything that came out of her mouth had me laughing!
What I absolutely LOVED about the book was that despite the darkness that surrounded Leon, the story itself was incredibly uplifting. Every time I dove into the book I felt like I was stepping into a warm hug when I really needed it. The characters' hearts are in the right places, even if their actions go awry.
Leon's Way is a phenomenal read, and I'd recommend it to all lovers of romance and happy endings!
