The author, Sally Huss, has written a fun book about Patrick . Patrick was a lucky little boy and he was Irish. On this day he was supposed to dress in green because of St. Patrick's day. This is a tradition to wear green on this day. Patrick loved colors, he loved red and orange and blue, but he particularly loved yellow. On this day he went for a walk and got lost in the forest. When you read this book you will see what happens to Patrick.
Adults will enjoy reading this book to their children. The children will live the story line. The adults will be able to talk to the children about situations they may find themselves in. Children should not go walking in the forest alone. Many of these specific issues will be lessons learned. The illustrations are bright, vivid and colorful. They depict the adventures of Patrick and his lesson learned.

Patrick loved his mother, but one thing about being a leprechaun made him unhappy. His mother insisted that he always wear green, the color of Ireland. That made Patrick sad because he loved all colors in the world around him, especially yellow. But all leprechauns in his school wore green, and that was just the way it had to be.
One day at recess, Patrick observed a beautiful rainbow; he decided to go off into the forest to try to find that beautiful yellow pot of gold that was rumored to be at its end. Soon his teacher and the whole community of leprechauns began to worry. Will Patrick find his pot of gold? Is he going to be in trouble with the adults?
The story has a surprise ending that will affect Patrick, the leprechauns, and his family. Delightful bedtime story that teaches children rules do not have to be arbitrary and that children and parents can learn to follow their heart. Perfect way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the family, preschoolers and primary grade children.
This picture book/beginning reader has illustrations which complements the tale. Parents should have a conversation about the full meaning of the story while answering questions that the youngsters may have.
