From the Author
Concepts are odd little things as they occur with me. They might manifest themselves as a line of narrative, or a short burst of dialogue, or a setting or a character. This one presented itself as a single frame, like an image paused on a TV screen, or a painting, or photograph; and I realized that it was the last scene in the last book of a series I hadn't planned to write. A series that begins with this book.
So I spent the wee hours of the morning at my computer, writing and re-writing. Now I have the first book, and the last scene of the last book of the series. All I need do now is fill in the blanks.
One must always listen to their muse.
