This is yet another empowering book in this series! I love the relationships between all the characters! This book is truly about loss, grief, and memories! I really enjoyed that Evan was a firefighters that was at 911, because I have an uncle who was a firefighter and he also has lung issues! I really enjoy that this was about an older couple! It really shows love can happen at any age! I love Evan and Lucy! I would absolutely recommend this entire series to anyone who is about family! Love love love this series!

This book can be read as a standalone, but the whole series is great so why not read them all!
We meet Lucy as the "momma" in Let love in and she appears in all the rest of the series as well but this was not "Momma's" book. This is Lucy's book, and what a great book it is. We really meet Lucy, apart from being Melanie's mom, and go on her journey as a single mom who takes care of everyone before herself. Until she realized it was finally time for her. I followed every part wanting to have this woman get the good she deserved in life, and as invested in all of theses characters as I have been I found myself feeling like I was reading a totally different new character.
And Evan! Sexy, sexy, sexy! Their relationship moved at a great pace for me not too fast and hot and heavy, but more mature and cautious. As you would expect from 2 people out of relationships for decades. You felt their connection from their first encounter and just wanted for them to be together.
I loved it, loved it, loved it!!! I've read a bunch of second chance romances and this one is now my top favorite. Great story and beautifully written. Kept me up reading and wanting to see how Lucy and Evan get the happy ending they both deserve, but that doesn't mean you won't need a whole box of tissues along the way ;)

Let Love Be can easily be read as a stand alone, this book is written in three parts and is an emotional roller coaster with a range of emotions that shows what a wonderful artist Ms. Collins is.

Part 1 ughhh, part one ripped my heart out for both of these people. Evan and Lucy both faced heartache and tragedy in their lives and be warned, I suggest tissues when reading. No, I am not going to tell you what you read or why your heart will break but it will give you great perspective into both characters as you witness their pasts up close and personal.

Part 2 opens with a smile and an adorable introduction for Evan and Lucy. When they meet, they don’t live in the same town but I love how this chance encounter stayed with both of them.

These two getting to know each other was so well done, and watching Evan decide to do the small simple things for Lucy, to find a way to make her smile truly endeared him to my heart. Though the reader sees pain in part 1 there is more heartache, I also truly enjoyed the use of 9/11. Evan is FDNY and his experience and how he was touched by the events of that day pulled at my soul.

Evan’s "Princess work" (again not need to read the book!) and the cooking scenes were all so well done, they truly allow the reader to feel the love and connection growing between these two.

Evan and Lucy are mature adults and seeing them find love renewed my faith in love!

Part 3 Home; yes these two find a home together but not without some challenges; again you need to read this to experience it first hand; but the tie backs to the past; the desire to want to be together; I close this one knowing Lucy and Evans are together forever!

Please note I read this book stand alone and adored it!!

Do you believe you can have two big loves in your lifetime?

Let Love Be is a book about love and loss, regret, second chances

We first met Lucy "Momma" Crane in the first book in the series, Let Love In. She lost the love of her life very early in her marriage, and has spent the years being the best mum she can to her daughter Melanie.

Now her daughter Melly and her best friend/surrogate daughter Maddy have moved away and are making their own lives, it is time for Lucy to live for herself.

It is refreshing to read a book about a mature couple. Don't get me wrong, I love the other books in this series, but as someone old enough to be their mother, it is nice for a change to read about characters closer to my age. None of the angsty teen problems!!

Evan Donovan never felt like he deserved a family. New York firefighter to the core, he has dealt with so much heartache over the years, and is still dealing with PTSD from the 9/11 attacks. His fellow firefighters are his family, and for so long is all he felt he needed.

Both Lucy and Evan feel that what they have is enough. But when they meet, they both start to question what they have felt for so many years.

I completely adore Lucy and Evan. They are so different, but so alike, and so perfect for each other. At times I wanted to smack their heads together to make them get themselves sorted out. And I wanted to give them both big bear hugs. There were things that cut right to the heart of the matter that made me want to laugh, want to cry.
