It is daddy kink, yes, but even if that's not really your thing, you might still like this if you like angsty reads, self-doubting characters who grew up too soon and needs to be taken care of, and care taking characters who make it their goal in life to reassure his boy.
The story is well-developed and well-rounded, and it is so well-written that I felt everything Liam does, and I cried on/off from ~10% to ~80%, I think, because of his angsty feelings.
I especially appreciated how this story started with 2 POV's and then one of these POV's changed to a third character. So different and yet such a great introduction to the dynamic which is this relationship.
I also very much appreciated that the typical "drama" that tends to land at 80% didn't. I mean it is there but it happens much soon and it landed where it made sense in the development of this couple. It was heartbreaking (Luna style...*coughs Saving Sebastian*) and yet having both POV's once again brings forth such reasoning to both sides that you can't help but understand and love both characters even more.
The storyline with Liam's mother was really the only part that didn't work for me and it felt like it took up way too much of the story.
But give me all these Daddies and their boys NOW. Like NOW. I cannot wait to get the rest of this series.
Liam hopes to find his ultimate Daddy who will take care of him. When the opportunity is there he is prepared and ready.... driving 600 miles and there he is knocking at Daddy's door.
Cash loved his boy but wasn't in love. He did take care of his boy who is now gone.
A knock on his door at the wrong moment, there stands a boy who is calling him Daddy and Cash is so not amused and throws the door in his face.
Liam, devastated, returns to his car and is gone.
What follows is their journey apart and together.
Until 50% it was awesome and then it took a bit of a strange turn. When two people are so close and involved with each other how could Cash not seen what Liam did and how he felt? It wasn't logical for me. Then the story gets better again.
All Liam's feelings of hurt were really great done my heart thundered against my ribs again and again.
It was a sweet read with a lot of hurt and I love that. A bit on the dramatic side. The dynamic wasn't what I expected it was more sweet than kinky... Cash and Liam had bot very engaging personalities. It was an emotional ride. For me it could be kinkier instead of all the sweetness. Overall a nice read!
I'm looking forward to the next one... I hope the story will be about Carter and Kanai !!
I have loved every book I have read by this author! She has an amazing ability to make the reader feel the emotions of her characters through their dialogue. I typically do not like to read books that make me cry, however I will always read Luna David’s books because when she has her characters resolve their problems it’s truly wonderful!
I highly recommend all of her books. I can hardly wait for the next one.
TO Luna: I probably enjoyed reading this book much more than you enjoyed writing it and I love your husband’s outlook on your release of this book (it’s a view I share myself about many things). You are very gifted and lucky
