In my opinion "Let It Roll" is one of the most under-rated albums to be released in the last 20 years. You will hear some of most catchy and funky tunes on this CD, and also some of the most beautifully layered ballads. Getting Craig Fuller (ex-Pure Prairie League) to join this band as lead vocalist was a miracle in itself. NOBODY......and I mean NOBODY could have come anywhere close to filling Lowell George's vocal spot like this guy. I have been listening to this album ever since it came out and it just keeps on gettin better. It's one of my all-time top 5 CDs. Get it!

One of the best CD's I've ever heard put together, there are no weak songs and every cut seems to work with it's predecessor and successor. If you could have only 1 CD to drive across country - this is the one you should have.
Of course it doesn't hurt if you're a Feat fan.

Let It Roll by Little Feat is one of my favorite albums, regardless of genre. It's also timeless, as opposed to music sounding dated. I like the ecclectisism, the flawless performance, great arrangements, and fine songs. And the playing of one of my favorite drummers, Richie Hayward! It's truly great. This is also technically a good recording. Of course I had to buy it, as I recently damaged my previous copy of the album...It also helps that Linda Ronstadt is guesting on the album.

Some people claimed that, with Lowell George having died in 1979, Little Feat had no right to reunite in 1988, but their complaining should get them beds in community residences for the mentally ill. The truth is, the band features many longtime members in its reunion incarnation, including guitarist-singer Paul Barrere, and with slide guitarist Fred Tackett and percussionist Sam Clayton, as well as originals Bill Payne (keyboards) and Richie Hayward (drums), in tow, you get a great recreation of the classic Little Feat sound and style. In addition, singer-guitarist Craig Fuller does a great approximation of George's vocal style. As a result, this is a record that George would be proud of, so all of the complaining was unjustified.

I used to have it on vinyl and have always loved Let it Roll. Seller missreped the item description though as to being in good shape. Surprised it played after opening cd.[a lot of surface scratches] Couldn't even look at cd booklet cause it looked like it had been waterlogged to the point that all the pages were stuck together and can't get them apart or even think about it...At least it played, even though it took a long time to rip it to my comp. I would give a 5 for the little Feet and maybe a 1 for seller description.

It was always going to be difficult to follow the utterly pioneering sounds of Lowell's early work with the Feat. I listened to this album in 1988, having heard most of the earlier work first. I guess I was just pleased that they'd released some sort of tribute album, and the sound is quite different to the earlier works.
Nevertheless, I have just one question for you:
Can any of you listen to "Hangin' on to the good times", and not feel just a little melancholy, a little sad that such a truly innovative artist died so youmg?
Many artists carry on beyond their sell by date, but I'd love to know what Lowell would make of his mates' tribute album if he were about today. My view? It's still groundbreaking stuff, and I know a lot of you will have access to a lot of stuff in the US that we don't hear over here, but believe me, when I play this to my mates, they have never heard anything quite like it. Unique! A true mish-mash of musical styles, with the slide guitar that made Little Feat Little Feat, pretty well expounded by Craig Fuller. I've listened to this album so may times I've had to buy a new CD!
You will not be disappointed, unless perhaps, you're Lowell George, but we'll sadly never know what he thinks.......

As a relatively new Feat fan, I fell prey to the "Lowell George era only" snobbery. I saw the rest of the band as a very negative jazzy influence. I had no interest whatsoever in post-George Feat. I stand corrected. Let It Roll is not only technically brilliant, it's a whole lot of fun. I can't believe what I was missing. These guys could make Wagner fun! Now, if I can just get over my Murphy Period snobbery...

This is one of Little Feat's best (and my favorite) albums. I had owned it back when, on cassette...happy to have it in my library again! Not a weak song here; from rocking to soft and tender and everything in between...great album!
