If you ever needed proof that good music, and good bands can be forgotten in obscurity than look no further than the Scream. This is one of the best rock albums of the 90's period. Yet, try to find it on the radio. Try to find anyone who knows about it. Some Motley Crue fans will know the singer as the guy who replaced Vince Neil for one album in 1994, what a shame. I like the Motley Crue album John Corabi did. I LOVE The Scream album and Union stuff he did. Man on The Moon, Mother Father, and really most of the songs could have been huge radio hits. These guys are so talented!!! As a guy who enjoys playing and listening to music this was purchased just to see who Motley Crue had hired as their singer. Ended up being one of the best impulse purchases I ever made. The only sad thing is that John would have been much better off had he stayed with the Scream. I read an interview with him once where he wondered if Motley Crue was the highlight of his career. NO!!!! No john it wasn't. Radio play and record sales have much more to do with who is promoting, pushing, and backing a band then the band or the members of that band. This band really should have been huge in comparison to the less talented acts who sold millions of records and enjoyed prolific radio play. The Scream really could have gone in many different directions in follow up efforts to this recording (more bluesy rock and acoustic work with those one of kind Corabi vocals please). this is a fantastic compilation of songs. If you like rock music mixed with hard rock and blues your going to love this.
Please also check out Union which is John Corabi (The Screams' singer) and the guitar player from Kiss. Great stuff there too!!! I really hate the fact that John Corabi is only known as having done one Motley Crue record to most people. This guy is really talented and has done and contributed to many other projects, and written some great music. John Corabi almost opporates like a Jazz musician in that he plays with everyone. Put his name in an amazon search, listen to some samples if you don't believe me. This guy is really good.

I just can't get enough of this album! This is the kind of rock music that most people might claim they can't stand in general yet end up craving like never before after hearing it for themselves. The Scream was lead singer/guitarist John Corabi's band and their 1991 debut release in retrospect remains one of the best rock debuts EVER. It's not all just straight-ahead hard rock, either. There's acoustic blues on one track, R&B/Soul-influenced female backing vocals on another, a funky clavinet thrown in for good measure, and even a couple hot-sounding saxophone solos featured as a proper nod to rock's original R&B roots. To put it bluntly, this is the kind of album a middle-of-the-road band like Aerosmith WISHED they could've put out during that time period and Corabi's group beat 'em right to the punch.
Too bad The Scream didn't end up taking the '90s by storm due to Motley Crue seizing the opportunity and luring Corabi over to their camp in wake of firing frontman Vince Neil at the time. Lose-lose situation for all parties involved, with Corabi lasting only one album with the Crue (arguably their best work to date) while The Scream managed to record enough material for a sophomore album (with Billy Fogarty filling in for Corabi on vocals) that never got released on account of their label dropping them before it ever saw the light of day. This particular group has now since become one of the biggest "What If" cases in recent memory to be sure, folks. In the meantime, if you come across ANY copies of this now-OOP '90s hard rock classic DO NOT hesitate to break the bank to get your hands on one! I'm not joking here, either.

In 1991, The hard rock band Scream released their one and only album "Let It Scream." The album is easily one of the best from the genre, and should have made these guys stars. That didn't happen, and not long after this release John Corabi ditched The Scream for Motley Crue.
The Scream's debut record is a little more bluesey than what was being released during the late 80's and early 90's. What makes "Let It Scream" a good record is the different elements that it's able to combine. There's hints of country with "Never Loved Her Anyway," and then there's a couple rockers like "Outlaw," "I Believe In Me," and "Every Inch A Woman," and of course, the all important ballads. There really isn't too much filler on this album, and most people will like a lot of what's offered here.
I recommend this album to all fans of late 80's/early 90's hard rock scene, but I doubt anyone who likes good hard rock will dislike what the Scream did here. Good album overall here rockers.

Great band, if they would have came a little sooner, I think they would have made it to the big time.
Their music is so diverse, it's hard not to like any tracks on the CD. The band was just a little
late with their album release. It was a time when "grunge" and "Rap" was changing the music industry.
They were slated to record a second album, but because of changing times, the record label dropped
them......what a waste of some really great talent!!!!!!! I believe the drummer went on to play with
"Judiest Preist" and John Corabi, the lead singer, went on to replace Vince Neil, whom had just been
fired from "Motley Crue". It was the only album every recorded without Neil. And to honest, it was
probably their best album "EVER". But alot of "Motley" fans could not accept it withouth Neil. Once
again, money and the music execs. came in and destroyed whatever could have been for "Motley Crue".
Buy the cd, you will not be disappointed and will probably want to get the Motley Crue album. John
Corabi is probably one of the most underrated writer/singer of a generation.....To Bad.

What could have been?

If you enjoy the Motley Crue album with John Corabi you really should check this out. Solid songs, great hooks, some amazing guitar work. It would have been so interesting to see where they would have gone next and how big they could have been.
