Nicey has planned the perfect wedding. Every detail is taken care of to make sure that Parker and Mel have a perfect day...except for the dead body. With the body being none other than a past rival of Parkers and someone who hated him with a passion, this throws the groom right into the middle of a murder investigation and throws Nicey and Mel into a tizzy. With all clues leading back to the groom, Nichelle decides that she has to prove his innocence which turns into a tricky proposition. As she keeps digging and learns more about the victim and his illegal acts and the people he was doing them with, she finds out that there are a number of people that wouldn't mind seeing Parker charged with murder and out of the way. Nichelle refuses to back down, again risking her job and her life to prove a friends innocence and keep providing for her expensive shoe habits.
This was one of my favorite books in this series. The plot twists give us plenty of suspects without giving away the who dun it till the end. This book will keep you reading long into the night. I found it impossible to put down and ended up being awake way past bedtime reading. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well written mystery.
Nicey to her friends has never planned a wedding but whom better to ask than her mother, the perfect wedding planner. Thinking that all has been taken care of and it’s only a week away from the wedding why would Nicey expect a corpse to be at the rehearsal.
After some sleuthing Nicey finds that Grant Parker and the corpse Mitchell Burke a longtime rival of Parker and who hated him, sending threatening emails leads all the clues to Grant killing Mitch.
With the wedding a week away, Nicey must solve this crime. Come along with local Sheriff Jim Rutledge who isn’t sure about the interference from Nicey, to ATF Agent Kyle who was Nicey high school boyfriend, to current boyfriend Joey D’Amore.
A secondary storyline is the Editor Bob, Channel Four newscaster Charlie Lewis and getting the wedding off with no more hitches.
Two negatives. the ebook price is WAY too high at $6.99. The publisher, Henry Press, better be more competitive or I'll just find another author. The other issue is the whole shoe fetish thing. That kind of crap drives me nuts. There are a lot one out there and this one it up near the top of the ranks.
