If you're looking for a wonderful book of letters and alphabets to stylize a website or jazz up a pamphlet, this book and CD-ROM set is fantastic!
However, if you are looking for a particular style of letter, there is no organization to the book whatsoever: There is no index, and the letters aren't listed chronologically in any way that I could figure out (they had what were clearly printing press era letters that were Baroque in style, followed by letters probably taken from the Book of Kells - 12 century manuscript - followed by Gothic manuscript era letters - 14th century I would say based on actual examples I've seen... etc.)
Therefore, if you require any information about the letter you're using (manuscript of origin, country of origin, date of origin) then this publication is of little use to you.
This is truly nit-picking, but my other reason for giving it three stars is because several of the letters are (in their original form) surrounded by gold leaf. (I've examined enough manuscripts from enough eras exemplified in this book to know that what I'm looking at is *supposed* to be gold leaf...) The print job in this book (although very nicely done) doesn't manage to successfully reproduce anything even approximating gold, so many of the letters in the book appear to be surrounded by a weird shade of tan.
