About the Author
Renee Peterson has been actively involved in make-believe pirate culture for the last fifteen years as her alter-ego, Katla in Mikla. Since earning a degree in English literaure in her home state of California, she spends much of her time reading, writing, and knitting, though she still likes to sail around with other faux freebooters. The occasional bottle of rum may be harmed in the process. About the illustrator: Garren Haskell, based out of Denver, studied Illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. His body of work is diverse, ranging from cartoon caricatures and children's book illustrations to fully painted portraits and fan art. When he's not drawing pirates all over his desk, Garren spends his free time writing music and playing games with his dog. Garren's illustration portfolio can be seen at www.gh-arts.com.

I'm very excited to read this to my daughter when she arrives and can't wait to send the second to my sister. My niece is in a book phase and soaks everything up like a sponge. I have no doubt that she will love this book and will be adding pirate language to her vocabulary.
