I read somewhere, that to read Lovecraft's letters is to hear his voice. I am beginning to enter the world of Lovecraft's letters, so I can learn of the passions that animated the man. There is much here. Howard launches into the poetic, because Mr. Kleiner had a flair for poetry. Howard's cosmicism as a personal philosophy is interlaced throughout the letters - largely because Mr. Kleiner had a different philosophical cast, and Lovecraft wondered why his friend clung to that way of thinking, especially after hearing about Cosmic Indifference. Well worth the read. We are indebted again to S.T. Joshi for bringing these letters forward.
