"An engaging, not-to-miss debut with characters that stayed with me long after I finished reading."
- Robin Bielman, USA Today bestselling author
"This fine debut novel convincingly explores the ties of love and friendship at the breaking point."
- L. Gott, The Fictional 100
"There is a slow easy confidence to the writing here... a sense the author took her time so the reader might linger over the language and the development of this particularly created world. Letters for Scarlet will resonate with anyone who has ever despaired at just how complicated real life can be. A deeply satisfying and emotionally substantial read. Highly recommend."
- Kris Wehrmeister, Pretty All True
"Letters for Scarlet is a poignant and relatable read that is sure to stay with readers long after they have finished reading it. The storyline grabs you from the minute you start reading and doesn't let you go until the very end. This book hit me like a ton of bricks and I enjoyed every. single. second."
- Pretty Little Book Reviews
"Poetic, almost literary in places, this novel ensnared me from the start. How could I resist writing as good as 'lump of sadness swaddled in my arms' when one of the main characters is thinking about her childless state. Or 'harbouring a negative attitude like a fugitive in the attic.' And this was only a couple of pages in! Then there was the premise - maybe every fledgling adult should be made to write a letter to their future selves. Each character was painted with a fine brush, brought to life with different perspectives. And all through the novel ran guilt, and blame, and lack of trust. The misconceptions and misdirections added mystery and intrigue, and it all came together in a moment of revelation for the reader. Not all is as it seems in this novel. The end isn't nicely wrapped up and delivered with a bow; but the reader is left with hope and a sense that the characters need to be trusted to find their own way forward."
