"Cathrine Goldstein's THE LETTING offers a chilling vision of the not-too-distant future. Idealistic and patriotic Veronica Billings discovers to her horror she's been the New World's most successful executioner. In Goldstein's pulse-pounding thriller, the fearless seventeen-year-old races to save humanity, and those she cares for, before Veronica becomes her own next victim of The Letting."
-Michael Murphy, author of ten novels including The Yankee Club, a prohibition-era mystery series from Random House Alibi.
"THE LETTING is The Handmaid's Tale meets The Hunger Games, a tense ride that slowly squeezes you between its fingers until you cry mercy, and beg to find out how it will all end."
-Kristen Rutherford, Head writer of The Nerdist Show on BBC America/Host of #parent at Geek and Sundry.
"THE LETTING is an incredibly captivating dystopian novel. From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The book is well written and the world building is second to none. The characters are all well-written and relatable and Phoenix is a swoonworthy guy that leaves readers wanting more of him! I'm so happy to hear this book is part of a series and I can't wait to carry on reading about this world!"
-Passion Obsession Blog
"Woo. What a ride. I almost think that THE LETTING is going to be the next big hit series..."

In this novel Ms. Goldstein has done the most difficulty of literary tasks with grace, taken incredibly complex concepts such as love, evil, and hate and made them seem simple enough to understand, process, and maneuver through with believable and likable characters. Yet even more importantly, in this fast paced novel, Catherine Goldstein reminds her reader of some of great truths we are all trying to learn: That love and hate are the same emotion, separated only by the thin blade of a scalpel made of fear. That perspective is everything. And that perhaps hidden deep within every villain is a hero struggling to emerge through clarity.
As a Writer myself of adult fiction and children's literature, I recommend this book without reservation. Of the five books I am reading right now (one by the acclaimed EL James), I picked this one up last, but finished it first. I suggest...you do the same.
Thank you Ms Goldstein and thank you Wild Rose Press. Well done!
Phoenix' job is to harvest. Veronica's job is to prepare the harvested for the letting but what if you found out that what you've always thought was right, was actually wrong. As the synopsis says, "What if the Devil doesn’t know he’s the Devil?"
So what is the letting? Ah, good question..........you must read the book for the answer. :-D You'll be glad you took the time to read this wonderfully written story.
Plan to have a good block of time to enjoy this indulgent novel, as you will never
want to put it down.
Go ahead, reward yourself and start reading.
