This book was exactly what I needed! It is well-written and organized, moving from explaining the different options for social media (Facebook, Linked In, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) and connecting each of them to the type of customer you are trying to reach, to analyzing the metrics once you get a social media campaign going.
Coming into this with very little experience with social media (personal or business) this book gave me the background that I needed to make a plan and provided some very good ideas and suggestions for executing my new plan (types of content, frequency, budget, etc.).
If you are a small business owner who is looking to better understand the world of social media and improve your company's presence out there, I would strongly recommend this book. I think you'll find it extremely worthwhile.
In particular, Level the Playing Field teaches you how to think about how your company could build its social media community over time, not just what posts or tweets will have the most short-term impact.
Plus, the book shares the right approach for anyone adopting a social media campaign, regardless of his or her social media fluency.
