Convenient, Reliable Portable Storage
Store and Transfer Content Faster.
With a busy life on the go and so much to do, the last thing you want is to spend extra time waiting for your files to transfer. With speeds up to 150MB/s read and 60MB/s write,* you can now transfer a 3GB HD video clip in less than 1 minute, compared to the 4 minutes it takes using a standard USB 2.0 drive.** And for added versatility, the drive is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices.
Securely protect and delete files on the go.
Looking to protect personal information, financial records, or other sensitive files on the go? JumpDrive S35 includes EncryptStick Lite software, an advanced security solution with 256-bit AES encryption to help protect your essential files against corruption, loss, and deletion. Easily create a password-protected vault that automatically encrypts data. And for peace of mind, files that are deleted from the vault are securely erased and can’t be recovered.
Designed for Convenience.
Beyond its performance and good looks, JumpDrive S35 is designed for convenience. Its small slim, swivel design includes an automatically retractable connector, which means there’s no cap to lose. And with the included key ring, you can easily attach it to your keychain, computer bag, backpack, or purse.
Lexar JumpDrive S35 comes in a range of colorful capacity options—16GB in teal, 32GB in green, 64GB in purple, and 128GB in black—a great color coding system to help you organize your drives and their contents.

I used a Macbook Pro, mid 2012
I copied over a folder with 3000 items in it, a mix of file types including video, photos, presentations, docs, PDFs, Final Draft, spreadsheets
This Lexar copied the files over in just under 5 minutes
An older Lexar USB 3.0 took exactly 8 minutes
A Transcend 3.0 took about 8.5 minutes
A Sandisk 2.0 took much longer. In the same time this Lexar took to fully copy the folder, the 2.0 Sandisk was less than a third of the way through
I did a bit more copying of fewer files and the results were consistent--this one was faster on a regular basis
Formatting for my Mac was fast and simple.
It comes with a 2-inch lanyard to attach to a key chain or whatever.
My single concern is build quality. It is plastic, like most of my flash drives, but it feels less sturdy, a bit more cheaply made. And it seems particularly thin at the outlet end (where the USB prong exits). If it breaks I'll update.
So far then, the speed is a definite plus. It's the fastest of my 3.0 flash drives. And certainly anyone with a 2.0 will want to upgrade--the difference, assuming you can take advantage of it, is hugely significant. Just that build quality to be worried about, but so far so good
With regard to convenience features this drive is mounted in a case and swivels around and retracts so that the USB connector is protected. I'm not certain how many USB connectors are fouled with pocket debris or bent in object-crowded pockets, but it is a nice protective feature. The device also comes with a little string thingy that made it easy to attach to my key chain.
With regard to performance, I compared this flash drive to another 32 GB USB 3.0 flash drive made by a another leading manufacturer. I downloaded the same 24 GB folder to each and the Lexar copied the file in 85% of the time of the other drive. If you are pilfering files like Kalinda on "The Good Wife", this little extra speed can prove very useful.
The stick also comes with encryption software, but no explanation of how to use it. When I tried to set up the program, it closed while I was trying to enter my selected password and I couldn't get any further in using the encryption system. It's a lite version so if you have files like Tom Cruise in "Collateral", maybe you might want a heavy duty system. Encryption is irrelevant to me so I didn't consider the failure of this software important.
In short, I liked this item better than my existing 32 bit stick.
The drive case is horrible. the case comes apart, and with the case on, I have found that some things can't use the drive because the case holds the drive out from being inserted properly. I got 2 of these drives, and I had to remove the cases on both. 1 star for the case.
The case is easily removed, and with the case removed, it is a tiny little flash drive that can easily fit in a wallet. 5 stars for this potential.
But,... without the case, I don't know trusted the drive can be to withstand damage if it is inside at the bottom of my pocket, or in something that is touching other things. So far, no problem, but I am not sure how durable the circuit is when left exposed. 3 stars for potential possibility of durability issue when the case is removed, because the case needs to be removed in order for the drive to be fully usable.
I have no idea how all the numbers add up, but to me, its about 4 stars overall.
Would I buy it again? yes.
Would I buy it again knowing I was buying it to carry around in my pocket and therefore it might get damaged after I remove the case? no.
Do I carry around flash drives in my pocket, and so is this really much of a concern for me? no, not really.
So... yes, I would buy it again. but only to use around the house or to store documents or things on, using it in ways that do not require it to be carried around.
Besides that, the drive is undependable in some applications.
It WILL copy and write files, and it is fast even at 2.0 speeds. (about 12MBPS Write and 20 MBPS Read)
The problem is it is an "iffy" drive.
Linux Mint won't work with it as a bootable USB (which is becoming popular these days)
Windows sometimes thinks it is damaged.
I'm running it on a 2.0 machine, so it may be a compatibility issue.
I had high hopes for this drive and wanted it to work well. Unfortunately, it is useless to me except for storage, and I wouldn't even trust it for that. It's one thing when Linux Mint balks at it - because Linux is a very picky OS, but when Windows has trouble with it, that tells me -- not such a good product.
For me, I will avoid LEXAR products in the future.
