Anyone saying their inkjet is more cost effective is not doing the math.
The box came and, upon opening it, the bag containing the cartridge and the cartridge itself were covered in magenta toner. So I'm already paying almost $70 for what amounts to a handful of toner _and_ some of it's already wasted in transit.
When it comes time to replace the other 3 cartridges, I may just opt for getting rid of the printer instead. It might actually be more economical to buy another printer than to pay for 3 more short-lived, self-emptying cartridges.
The conclusion here is that Lexmark offers these printer at low price and then plans on making up the difference on the toner. While I still use my laser printer for some printing, I have resorted to doing most jobs on my Cannon Ink Jet printer. At around $5 a cartridge (instead of $50) for the same number of jobs it is much more economical.
Shame on Lexmark.
