This is the third in the Hawthorne Brothers Romance series and while it was a good book, which I am accustomed to getting from M.L. Young,
I was a little disappointed in the way it ended. It seemed to end just when the story was actually getting into their life together. It left you wanting more and guessing about their HEA.
Jessica Altman was an undergrad student at NYU and practicing to become a lawyer. She worked as a barista while attending classes.
Although Liam caught her eye that day in the coffee shop where she worked, she was sure she would never see him again and even more sure if she did it would not be because he was interested in her.
Liam Hawthorne was the youngest of the Hawthorne boys and was training to be an MMA Fighter while working at Tito's Gym on the Lower East Side in the West 50's. As Liam headed home one afternoon he passed a little coffee shop and noticed a sign that coffee was $2.00 that day in stead of the usual $4.00. As he decided to give it a try and while waiting his turn to order one of the Barista's caught his eye and all of his attention. Liam was immediately smitten but afraid that being an MMA fighter would be a turn off for her.
One date turned into 2 and 2 into a home cooked dinner at Jessica's and eventually a trip to Iowa for her to meet his parents and brothers.
Meantime Liam is signed for a professional MMA fight, wins and gets a contract for 3 PPV fights and the romance continues to blossom, they are planning on moving in together once Jessica's lease is up and life is good.
As I stated earlier, it seems like the book ends just when things are going good.
I still did not hesitate to give this book 5 stars because it is a well written book but seems there should be more to the story.
Would I recommend this book/author? Book, not really since I was disappointed but author, yes, she really is a good writer just don't know what happened with this one.
Will I read more books by this author? Definitely
A great read!
