Liar, Lair was as I knew it would probably be an excellent read. Kasey always does a wonderful job of creating characters that you can relate to and enjoy. Never did I spend any time thinking that the h was immature or whiny or weak. And the H was determined and strong with slight alpha tendencies but never did he slap his chest and walk all over his h, unless they were having sex, he definitely slapped his chest and “walked” all over her during sex.
We read to get away from our reality and this book did exactly that while I was deep within its pages. While not a long read like I usually enjoy; but have a hard time finding it was a fast fun read. The story line was a bit of a stretch, because really how many of us come across billionaire real-estate moguls in our lives, but was an enjoyable stretch. Makenna was fun and strong and levelheaded. Benny was quiet at first but once he made a choice to change his life he quickly became strong and sure. Both were willing to admit that mistakes were made and each played a defining roll in their relationships failure.
This story is ultimately about deciding that you have had enough of the situation, whatever it may be, that you find yourself in and changing it. It’s also about being truthful, and lying, even by omission, is still a lie and can sometimes come with lasting consequences.
Benny Duncan is basically in a loveless marriage where his wife is more concerned with social status and money so that she doesn’t even pay attention to her husband. To stay out of his wife's way he immerses himself into his job.
Makenna Banks is known for her skills at finding out the truth and she just got hired by Regina to see if her husband is having an affair. Too bad Makenna doesn’t realize that Regina is the witch and she just got played.
Will Makenna be able to tell what's a lie or not before it's too late or was their relationship the biggest lie of them all?
Makenna and Benny were characters that you instantly felt a connection to and what I really loved about this story was when Benny started to grow a back bone.
You could tell that he did love his wife at one point, but when he was with Makenna he was able to be himself and grow more and more. The writing, plot and chemistry was so good that I didn’t pause. I just kept reading until I reached the end. Even if it was in the middle of the night.

I loved this story. The words flowed from page to page and it never left you wondering. The slow way Kenna falls in love with Benny and the inner turmoil that Benny feels about how he feels about Kenna from the beginning was perfectly written. Kasey gave you just a little to invite you in and slowly fed you more as the story progressed. With each page you want more and more because you are dying to know do Kenna and Benny get their happy ending or will Benny's situation win out and Kenna loses it all.
I could read this a hundred times over and it still have me feeling just the way I did the first time. Well done Kasey!
WOW! This book is fantastic! The character development is great, with secondaries adding to the story perfectly. A fast paced, sexy, and well written story line flowed very smoothly. I had a super easy time relating to the realistic characters. The author had me hooked from the very beginning, and held me hostage until I finished the last page. She builds up the suspense very well, and the sexy scene goodness is SMOKIN'! An insane stalker rounds this amazing and fast paced read, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
