Glenn Beck, #1 bestselling author and radio host, reveals the cold truth behind the ideology of progressivism and how the tenets of this dangerous belief system are eroding the foundation of this country.

WHY DO WE ACCEPT THE LIES?

Politics is no longer about pointing to a shining city on the hill; it’s about promising you a shiny new car for your driveway. The candidate who tells the people what they want to hear is usually the one who wins—facts be damned.

Politicians may be sleazy and spineless, but they’re not stupid. They see that the way to win is by first telling people everything that is wrong with the world, and then painting a vision of the life they want—a Utopian vision that they’ll create right here on earth, one where no one is ever sick or hungry, jobless, or homeless. All we have to do is surrender our freedom and someone else’s wallet and they’ll make it happen.

And so they continue to lie, and we continue to believe them, and they keep winning elections.

The only way to break the cycle is to understand why Americans fall for the deception over and over again. In
Liars, #1 bestselling author and nationally syndicated radio host Glenn Beck reveals the startlingly simple answer: fear.

At our most basic level, we’re all afraid of something. Progressives from both parties exploit this by first pointing out the things we should be afraid of, and then offering us “solutions” to these fears. Solutions that always require us to give up our freedoms. Solutions that are based on two things: lies, and an unrelenting hunger for power and control.

In his signature no-holds-barred way, Beck destroys the false promises of Progressivism and takes us through its history, showing how each “wave” built up on the one before it, ultimately washing up to the beach in the form of Barack Obama—and whoever is next.

A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!
EVERY American should read/listen to this! The reality is that science tells us that a number of us are "born" with the type of mindset that the progressive/liberal exemplifies, however the comparative number of these individuals is small. The vast majority of individuals are "conservative" in nature and are the "majority." Problem with today is the "minority" has gotten control of the "majority" and we are in serious trouble. I hope that publications such as this are reviewed by both mindsets and that for those who suffer from progressiveness wake up and smell the coffee before it's too late!

Full of FACTS which are backed up with 100 pages of citings. I see why the political left wants to destroy Glenn Beck as he has exposed their game on the American public. I've had three history majors read this book and all of them are livid at how much they have been lied to in school especially after they check the facts in this book. I recommend this book for home schoolers and for parents of junior high and high school students to present to them the other side of the story or out right lies they are being taught. Especially the distortions on Woodrow Wilson, LBJ and FDR as they (Obama, Lyndon B. Johnson, Woodrow Wilson and Franklin D. Roosevelt) were NOT the heroes, the progressive left have made them out to be. Finally, someone who with documentation makes the case on the amount of damage they and progressives have done.

Before I bought the book, I read the negative reviews which seem to attack the man, but can't dispute the facts in this book.
If you are on a school committie or education board, make it your mission to get this book into the classroom!

I just purchased this book. After reading the reviews, 55% 5 star to 45%1 star, and nothing in between, it's obvious to see the divide between Conservatives and Liberal Progressives. Seems Conservatives are in the majority, and the 1 star reviews don't really review the book, but rather just bash a person they disagree with.
I've always liked Glenn because he is so well researched before he writes or speaks. I don't always agree with his conclusions, but so far, I can't dispute his research. After reading most of Glenn's books, I'm sure I'll enjoy this one as well. I will update on this book in a few days when I finish it. My 5 stars will only change if it's poorly written, or I find the research flawed....I won't change the rating on the book just because I disagree with an opinion or dislike the author's conclusions.

Update: My 5 stars stay. This book is a wonderful account of how progressives have been able to put their policies in place over the years, as well as refining their techniques for doing so into an art. Beck shows, through historical accounts, how this has been going on for years. That the process of changing our country into something that has already been tried elsewhere and has failed, is an ongoing thing by people who think they are smarter than the people who failed at it before.
It's well written but I missed the humor Beck usually injects in his books. I have the kindle version which lists his sources and references at the end of the book rather than on the page where it is mentioned. I don't know how this book in hard copy lists his notes.
I can't tell you what conclusion you will come to after reading this book, but you will come away with a better understanding of how the progressive movement works.

A complete and logical layout of the progressive political system, re-pleat with total backup and footnotes showing the sources of all the logic. I can say this as I have read the book as opposed to many of the one star "reviews" here. Liars should be read by all interested in having the facts to educate others as to what is really going on in the USA along with "Hillary's America" by Dinesh d'Souza. Trump needs to read this so he has backup for what he says; he also needs to give out copies of this book and hundreds of copies of the DVD of Hillary's America to folks at his rallies so they can spread the word. Since others (writing reviews --- who have not read this book) are assassinating Beck's character I feel a few words about his character are in order: Beck tries so hard to be right and proud of all his actions (in general a very good thing, imo) but his passion for truth and being personally "right" is blinding him to the logic of: The Trump vs. Hillary question: Faced with two choices --- Death and a Possibility of Life --- What do you choose? He chooses neither which is against reason and illogical. Beck forgets what he said about "relying on Divine Providence" with a possible chance of life; the choice Washington made when getting of out Brooklyn in the fog. (He should re-read his book on Washington.) But, Beck is blind to the choice of logic. This makes people mad at him. When someone is blind, you do not get mad at them. Or, maybe these people do; maybe they will trip a blind man if they see one on the street. Seems like it. No?

Very good account on the history of progressivism. Beck describes the evil of the left that is destroying the US. I know, first hand, what the left is capable of doing after almost 15 years of socialist government in Brazil. They are a bunch of hypocrites that want to keep the people under their total control. The only problem in this book is the wrong view of men espoused by Beck, much for his wrong view of biblical Christianity.

Truthful. No bull though if you hate GB just because you do, read it anyway as this is what the kids need to read before they become slaves to the government. And they will if more conservatives of today who follow the Constitution that was written for us,do not get elected and unfortunately the Dem do not. They have now been truly taken over by the true Marxist and Communist which means all poor people being killed and some middle class as well because they are the easiest and of no use to the government. This happened in the USSR and China totaling 100 million people. which one founder was questioned after it was written if they had a document yet and he replied yes, madam, we have, if you can keep it. 100 hundred years ago we lived by the Constitution now we are run by the courts. This kids you will not read in text books because this is the last thing they want you to know. For to know the truth, you are saying I will make this country great and they think Marxism is the way to go. If that is true why did the USSR go away and why will Communist Chinese die and even Hitler beleive in Marxism is some way and all that remains is a few burn't bones and teeth.
