Top customer reviews
Mash up a soft-boiled egg to put on toast in the morning
Spoon out a nice size serving of plain yogurt, with room to stir toppings/fruit
Good size for a scoop (or two) of ice cream as a treat, without overdoing
Single servings of side dishes, such as beans or slaw, so they don't "contaminate"
Good for getting all baking ingredients ready before cooking (butter, flour for roux, etc.)
Sometimes I need a *big* dipping cup
Good size for heating up a mini corn coblet. Put a pat of butter in the bottom, nuke the corn, and roll the cob in the melted butter to coat.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
I should probably try making a pie in them. Even with that, they have proved to be very useful. Very glad to have them.
The quality is very nice, not lightweight or flimsy, but not so heavy and chunky they are overdone. They do have a nice lip on them to hold your pie crust. I am happy that I got them, I see a lot of uses for them.
Non kitchen uses, could be potpourri, or candle dish, or change tray, car keys catcher etc.
along with a set of metal mini pie pans made by a different company.
I find that I prefer the glass mini pie pans to the metal. The see-through glass is what I like. Also they are easy to clean.
Mini glass pie pans are heavier than metal pie pans of the same size, but that can be a good thing with the pies so small. They won't tip over easily when bumped accidentally (like flimsy disposable aluminum pie pans) and that is important when filling with custard or any liquidy pie ingredients.
Anyway, I just always reach for the glass mini pie pans when making pies and notice the metal mini pie pans stay stacks and go unused until the last. If fact, I'll wash the glass ones so I can use them, rather than go with the metal pans. That is, unless I am making large batches of pies than all available pans are put to use.
