In this story, true to form, Lady Catherine coerces and manipulates Charles St. John, the Earl of Seaton, into a marriage of convenience with the dying Anne. Although not a man to buckle under threats, Seaton also cannot turn away from his responsibility to his title and to the care of his younger sisters. But once he meets Anne, his heart goes out to the frail woman, and he vows to not only marry her, but to make her as happy during her remaining time as her poor health allows.
Anne de Bourgh fell for Seaton years ago during one of her brief visits to London, when she saw him at the Berkley Street home of Almack’s patroness, Lady Jersey, and now Anne finds she wants to become healthy and strong so that she might have a normal marriage with this lovely man.
This delightful regency novella made me long for a fourth in Ms. Bolen’s series. I hope you enjoy the series as much as I did.
They marry and he finds her stronger and taking better care of herself . She was getting better not worse. She finds a letter about his love for the other woman his sister had written it not him. .She leaves him but will he come to take her back? I liked this one best it only covered a few days of them together but everything wrapped up nicely at the end.
I'm definitely going to read more of Cheryl Bolen.
