The Consolidated B-24 Liberator first saw combat in June of 1942, making a daring raid into Nazi-occupied Romania to bomb the oil fields at Ploesti. Nearly 18,500 Liberators were built during the war years, making it by far the most-produced American combat aircraft. It served in many roles beyond heavy bomber, transport, and anti-submarine patrol, and flew in Africa, Europe, India, the Atlantic, India and the Pacific Theatre. Originally printed by the United States Army Air Force in 1942, the B-24 Liberator Pilot's Flight Operating Manual taught pilots everything they needed to know before entering the cockpit. Originally classified "Restricted", the manual was declassified long ago and is here reprinted in book form. This affordable facsimile has been reformatted, and color images appear as black and white. Care has been taken however to preserve the integrity of the text.

I got this for my son, but i enjoyed looking at it. Would be good for a bomber buff, especially anyone interested in the technical aspects of piloting.

Clarification on What This Book Is

This book is the generic flight manual for the B-24D, dated 15 September 1942. The H model on the book's cover photo was a poor choice (or ignorance) by Periscope. When I purchased it I was looking/hoping for something covering the later and more widely used G, H or J models. This book does have some good information in it, and if nothing else gives the reader an appreciation for how un-ergonomic and purely utilitarian combat aircraft were at the time. Crew comfort and efficiency were certainly not worth much in the designers' eyes. But if you are looking for some good details on operation of all the aircraft's systems including armament and interior layout, this isn't it.

Wonderful resource for a wanna-be organizer!

I'm a "wanna-be" organizer, and I just finished reading this CD-Rom version of Lisa's book, The Professional Organizer's Complete Business Guide. I really appreciated all the information she gives on the business side of things. She comes right out and tells you that you have to have a knack for organizing to be in this business, then gives you all the tools in information to help you build the business up off the ground with as little money as possible. Not only information - but she included like 50 to 60 forms (that I understand come on CD with the physical book too) that I was able to customize right on my home computer! AND - WOW - she even PERSONALLY answered my million questions when I emailed her for extra help! She really wants to see me succeed, and that makes it feel like I really have a great start with her on MY side!
