About the Author
Laurie Barna grew up enjoying drawing, later taking several art courses in college while pursuing a professional nursing degree. She eagerly began watercolor painting in 1999, but in 2006, the Liberty Series became her passion and her goal is to exhibit the series to an ever-increasing public audience. She lives with her husband, adult daughter and a growing collection of "everything Liberty" in the Almaden area of San Jose, California.

Laurie Barna's paintings are strongly filled with ideas of precious liberties we hope never to sacrifice.
She has portrayed these historical and social concepts powerfully, yet she has left it to the reader to deeply
examine and question those big ideas .This is a thinker's book.
