The angled bristles make corners and cracks easy to sweep, and the stiffness of the bristles sweeps everything from dust bunnies and grass clippings that strayed into the house, right down to dust and spilled flour. The sturdy metal handle will last a lifetime, and the hanging hole on the end cap means it stores easily out of the way.
Overall, this is a well made broom that does a great job on inside sweeping jobs.
This broom is definitely one foot wide, just as the description states. Several reviews said it was narrower than they thought it would be. They either didn't read the description completely through, or don't have a ruler, tape measure, or understanding of systems of measurement.
I have a lot of furniture in a small house. This narrower than average broom is much better at getting between table legs, bookshelves, etc., than the standard ones.
Also, the two dustpans I have are one foot wide. My other brooms are several inches wider, especially after years of use, and want to push the collected floor crud around the edges of the dustpans. The new broom fits the mouth of the dustpans nicely.
for me to use easily. I'm sure I'll be getting many years of use from this broom. I
haven't been able to find a broom of this quality at this price in any store.
Update - Dec 8, 2017: This broom continues work great. I've had it 3 years and it
looks like new. No bent bristles. And I use it a lot. I carry it in my Bronco during the
winter. With a good-sized truck, a little car scrapper takes too long. So I use my broom
all winter to deal with northern Michigan winters. And when the snow is gone. It goes
back inside. The metal handle really gets cold outside. But its strong.
I had an old, really ratty version of this that was left at my house when I bought it, eight years ago. Because it was an old broom when I inherited it, I kept trying to replace it with something with better bristles. Nothing else worked as well for picking up leaves and dirt, so I kept this, even as the bristles got rattier, and rattier. After eight years of being left outside on a patio, the handle rusted through, so I finally had to buy a new one. One of these will last at least eight years.
If you want a broom that actually works--meaning it picks up dirt, and it can move leaves, this is the one!
