I went in blind so didn’t realise this was a second chance love story and it had me hooked Tung figure out why Shiloh and Reid didn’t work the first time.
I loved Shiloh she was a great character with a lot of flaws but i loved reading her story and getting to see her character grow and tackle her fears that she had.
Reid was an egnigma of a character as this story was in Shilohs point of you, you never really new what he was thinking and i absolutely loved that. He was alpha and sexy and broody and i couldn’t have asked for a better hero.
This book was funny, very sexy and such a great storyline that pretty much had me reading the book in one sitting.
I love Lee Pipers writing it was amazing and i loved the way she wrote especially some one liners. To say that I’m late to the game with Lees writing is an understatement but hell i am one huge fan now and can’t wait to get into her other books.
Loved loved loved it.
Shiloh Stirling lives to sing. She needs it to exist. She also has a back story that she told as I read through the story of her, her twin brother Jasper and best friend Tobias’ journey as they compete in a competition to win a lucrative recording contract with a major label. What her band mates don’t know is the secret she is keeping. The lies that she tells them to keep them from the truth that could cost them the opportunity to win the contract.
Reid Tate and his friends, Willow and Drake are the rival band and best friends that could knock them out of the running. They’re at the top of their game, while Shiloh and her boys seem to be on the road to self destruction, but it seems that Reid just can’t leave her to flounder and fail.
Lie To Me is told from Shiloh’s POV, in a voice that is as hilarious as it is hot, and often exposed, as she describes her journey of loss and recovery at the hands of the man who she’d let down three years ago. Reid is just gorgeous, and his method of helping is rather hot and heavy!!!
If you love the rocker genre, best friends to lovers, or the enemies to lovers genre, then I recommend you grab this book. I certainly enjoyed it, and dived straight into the next book in the series, and I can tell you that it is even better!
So, I have to admit that this is my first book by this author. They say you never forget your first. I KNOW I’ll never forget this story. I am an avid reader, reading several books a week. I can not remember the last time I wanted to simultaneously devour and savor a book. I wanted to shut the world out and just read and reread. I didn’t want to do anything required of me but spend time with Shiloh and Reid. I have officially added Reid to my very short list of book boyfriends. The depth of the characters, the pace of the story, the emotion, the STEAM---this book was everything and then some. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I really loved this story. It is one I know I will reread, which is rare for me. And I am going to pray that these characters speak to the author some more, demanding another book in that alpha voice of Reid’s because I am not ready to say goodbye.
Rocker romance is my absolute favorite trope to read. And Reid has become my kryptonite, moving the bar on rocker romance to new heights.
Reid Tate strides down the front steps of Rising Star like a god sent to test the virtue of every woman on Earth. I gasp, then try to pass it off as a sneeze and end up sounding as though I swallowed my own tongue.
He ambles over to his wagon two cars down. Testosterone oozes from his pores, leaving me so flustered I have no idea where to look. My chipped nail polish will have to do.
If that's not enough to make you swoon over Reid Tate, then I don't know what will. This man is absolutely everything. Unfortunately he's the man Shiloh walked out on three years prior, and now he hates her.
LIE TO ME is the first novel in Lee Piper's new series Rising Star and it is unputdownable (is that even a word? Well it is now!) It traces the story of Shiloh, Jasper (her twin) and Tobias (her best friend), as they compete for a recording contract with the world's largest recording label. There's a little bit of a hitch though, they are competing against Reid, Willow and Drake, all of whom they are friends.
Fear is an underlying thread running throughout this story. When Reid happens to work out what Shiloh's is he decides to help her overcome it, regardless of his current feelings toward her. His methods may be a little bit different, and extremely hot, but they work. Who would want his form of distraction?
Ms Piper has written a beautiful story that will break your heart, swoon and sigh, and become extremely frustrated with some of the character's antics. Shiloh won my heart, she was strong and independent, but she has a vulnerable side resulting from an event in the past. The story line had a flow that was perfect, allowing me to become fully entranced.
I can't wait to read the next one in this series. This one is a definite recommendation though.

So until last week I hadn't even heard of Lee Piper. I seen a giveaway for an ARC of this book and then I was seeing this gorgeous cover EVERYWHERE!!! Other authors and readers were talking about this upcoming release and I just knew I had to get my hands on it!!!
Now I am a mega Rock Star Romance junkie. I absolutely gorge on this genre as often as I can and because I read so many there has to be something special in it to get me going.
Well let me tell you this author took it to another level. Not only rock star but second chance and It's about a female rocker instead of your typical male lead.
Shiloh is in a band competition with her twin brother Jasper and her best friend Tobias. Their main competition consist of her friend Willow and Ex boyfriend Reid Tate.
We know at the beginning that Shiloh has a secret. Something that is still affecting her day to day. Something she hasn't shared with anyone including her brother. It just so happens that Reid is the one to notice that there is something happening with her and regardless of their past he wants to help her overcome her fear.
"After all these years, he's still the only person who knows me, who truly knows who I am. Internally, I groan. karma is one f***ed up bitch."
These two just connect on such a deep level. You just know that they are meant to be but the struggle is real and through all the drama, stress and fear they must learn to lean on each other and find their way back.
"Real people hurt. Real people love. Real people lose."
Seriously go one click this book. All the hype over it is real because it really is that AMAZING!!!!
