About the Author
Angela attended more than thirteen different elementary and high schools before she finally ended up in an alternative school. After being expelled from alternative education she ended up in evening school , then after being expelled from there it was ruled that she could never attend another school in the state of New York.
Angela was sexually and mentally abused beginning at the tender age of five. She first ran away at the age of nine, then subsequently left home for good at the age of twelve. Angela has endured many of life’s heartaches ranging from promiscuity, drug’s, mental and physical abuse. She has also been arrested over twenty times.
Angela is now a married mother of five and a three time convicted felon, who now resides in Atlanta, G.A. with four of her children. She gave birth to her fifth child in prison handcuffed to a bed. She also lost her mother and grandmother to death during her incarceration.
Instead of succumbing to all of her misfortunes in life, she uses her experience in life’s lessons to help other’s over come. Her story is gripping and her concern is sincere. Along those lines, Angela is the author of Life Beyond These walls, and founder of Dont Ask Just Tell a non profit organization; her life is having a profound impact in halfway houses, youth detention centers and on the unsuspecting. Angela's client list includes satisfied customers from the corporate, civic, faith-based, correctional systems, and school sectors.

I kind of wish she wouldn't put so much blame and attention on Phaedra. Yes she did you dirty. Yes that was messed up. But own up to your part.take responsibility because no one wants to hear or read a bunch of woe is me crap. Let the audience decide who is what. Her story is very believable especially with people all around phadrea still going down. Here she is possibly about to leave her ditzy ass husband when its like how could someone like her marry someone who's elevator doesn't go all the way to the top? Where you really in love? What you all talk bout?
Anyways all in all it was a good book. And i hope my money helps her and her family in some way. Im so sorry she lost her damn grandma and mom whule incarcerated and then haf her baby in there too. As a mother. A single mom. I really felt that part of her story. Being homeless. What a strong woman. I hope she is just using Phaedra as a way to get more money and not because she really blames her for her struggles. Let go of some of that bitterness.
Lies of a Real Housewife by Angela Stanton is a fast paced read detailing her life from childhood, but mainly focusing on her time breaking the law with Phaedra Parks and company.
When I first came across the Vibe video courtesy of Stoopid Housewives, I wasn't surprised at all. Phaedra comes across somewhat shady for instance, taking money from her client in the parking lot, the due date scandal, her husband's charges that she tries to sugar coat, his being pulled over by the police and so many other situations that has played out before our eyes on television. I went in with my suspicions knowing that most of what Angela was airing out was going to be sensationalized. After reading her story, I think she has a valid point for feeling the way that she does and it's not about the money, but about friendship, loyalty and Phaedra not honoring their agreement.
Everybody knows that Phaedra has a freaky side which is nothing new especially after hearing the way she was going on and on about Ridickulous. Another conclusion one can come to regarding Phaedra is Sheree's, Mystikal's and Bobby Brown's cases, that she's not that great of an attorney either since just about all of her clients goes to jail. Well except for Sheree, but you all saw how that played out on RHOA. I wanted for this book not to paint Phaedra as the person Angela was accusing her as being. I wanted to believe that she was the legitimate business woman that she portrays herself as, but with all of the evidence provided in this book, it's a tough call. Angela Stanton drops names, places, DETAILS, descriptions like the inside of Phaedra's house before RHOA putting big emphasizes on her bedroom being befitting of a dominatrix. I get the inkling from the way that the author was talking about her and Phaedra's relationship, that there may have been something more intimate going on between them. I mean look at her, she kind of favors Phaedra has the same mannerisms and she idolized her more than just as a friend would. In my opinion it read more like Angela was in love with Phaedra. When you read the lengths that she went through to please Phaedra you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Angela even considered aborting a child by drinking some kind of potion that Mama Park's gave them a recipe for just because that's what Phaedra wanted. WTH???
Angela lost it when she saw E, Apollo's brother, being picked up in a Rolls Royce during a scene on RHOA when clips of Phaedra and Apollo's wedding were aired. What made the author feel used was one, she married Apollo of all people and two, was the fact that Phaedra took care of everyone else involved and left her hanging. Phaedra was supposed to defend Angela in court and at the last minute, she backed out claiming that it would be a conflict of interest. With Phaedra working in sync with Apolllo and E, defending Angela would have definitely been a conflict of interest and incriminating as well. As we all know, Apollo is now Phaedra's husband and E works/ed for her as a paralegal. I'm sure Mystikal's baby's mother can recall and attest to meeting Phaedra to collect money for child support wearing slippers. So is Angela lying about how Phaedra later talked about the woman like a dog breaking client attorney privilege? Mystikal's baby mother can say if that meeting actually ever took place to verify that charge. According to Angela, that's not the only time Phaedra divulged information about her clients. During a time when she was representing Mystikal, Angela claims that Phaedra called him the dumbest ni**a she knew from the way he orchestrated the rape that led to his incarceration. (Can't say I blame her for that because he was, but still Phaedra was being paid to represent him not blab his business behind his back to others.) According to Angela, Phaedra slept with Mystikal, plenty of athletes, her clients and even stalked a local deejay that she was doing. Another detail dropped was that Apollo has only one testicle due to a motor cycle incident and Phaedra made fun of that. After Apollo learned that Phaedra had disclosed this secret to Angela, he threw a temper tantrum and cried like a baby, but leave it to Phaedra to have him on three-way with Angela on mute laughing her azz off at his expense. What I found to be particularly interesting as if that wasn't interesting enough, was reading that Apollo, as fine as he is, wasn't even on Phaedra's radar at the time, but more of her punk and/or plaything. Angela feels the only reason Phaedra married Apollo and took care of E, was so that he couldn't testify against her. After all, everybody knows that three is better than one. The union according to Angela, is more of a business arrangement than an actual marriage.
I know I've given away a lot pertaining to this book, but believe me there's plenty more that I haven't even touched on. My suggestion is that you read it for yourself and look at the documents presented at the end and see where you stand. As for me, I now look at Phaedra with the slanted stink eye while shaking my head. All I can hear now is NeNe Leakes saying Phaedra-High-Class-Parks-Attorney-At-Law LMAO. That darn NeNe
