1. Lockup World Tour: Israel

Only slightly larger than the state of New Jersey, Israel is a country where the ancient world meets the modern. It is a nation of contrasts, whose gleaming cities and resorts lie in one of the world's most volatile regions, where centuries-old conflicts can explode in unthinkable violence. And those same contrasts are reflected in the nation's prisons. Now, three Israeli prisons open their doors to our cameras and we reveal the unexpected sights inside.

An old man with a thick Scottish accent said to officials, "If you punish me, I'll burn me Peter!" Now how many men could actually follow through on that!? Then, they interview a prisoner in Belgium, or nearabouts, and it's hard to pay attention 'cuz one immediately asks, "Why is that dude Asian?" He orders a high-quality watch, something I am almost sure could never happen in a US prison.
The point being: this episode had novel things going on. It really shows that prison laws and culture are not universal. This was really something informative to see.

This was absolutely fascinating. Prisons in Israel are all about REHABILITATION. They don't try to make the criminal come out feeling more anger and hatred as our prisons do.
