About the Author

Marissa's story of Anna began with a dream about being kidnapped with Adam Savage from Mythbusters (Yes, really). Over the next year and a half, it morphed into the story that is now known as "The Life of Anna." She has several other stories in progress, one of which is based on her kidnapped dream. When she's not writing or editing, Marissa is taking care of two young boys, training to be an astronaut, running her household, wrestling with gorillas, playing around on Facebook, promoting whirled peas, and busting her tush for her accounting degree. She enjoys chocolate, air conditioning in the desert's summer heat, really good strawberry margaritas, sleeping, and shopping

Isn't it funny how some synopses keep you from buying books and others draw you to a book. I read the warning and immediately knew I had to read this book. This is a dark book and not for the faint of heart! I read 1 person's review of how dark this book is, as it clearly states it in the warning. She gave the book 1 star review because of how dark the book was. Why read a book if you don't like dark books especially with a warning like the one for this book?

I don't like telling you about the story in my review because if you read the synopsis it tells you what the book is about. I do like telling you whether I loved a story or not and this is a story that I loved. Marissa is great at drawing you in and describing what is happening to her characters. I was sucked into this book! I can't wait to read more of Marissa's books. DO HEED The WARNING: if you don't like DARK don't read this book! There is a long narrative with the warning for this book and this is the lightest of her books!

The Life of Anna, Part 1 Enslaved by Marissa Honeycutt

This is not a story for the faint of heart and this is not a story of love and romance. It is a story of a young woman surviving with what life has given her. Taken in by Devin after her parents death, she believed her guardian would treat her like a beloved niece as he had before. Her life changes on her sixteenth birthday as she becomes a slave and is trained to please her master. Battered but never beaten, Anna's sweetness, spirit, and naïveté makes this book stand out from many others in this edgy, dark, erotic novella. I got this book believing it just to be one more dark erotica, one of many that have been written, and got so much more.

There are also elements of something more below the surface of the story. Anna has visions of a young man that has plagued her since her parents death. Someone who makes her feel safe and loved who turns out to be real. Sexy Alex and his equally hot family are much more than meets the eye. And that ending and excerpt of the next book!! Wow! Want to know more? Then you defintely need to pick this up. It is uniquely different and is the first novel in a series that will have you panting for the next book.

The warning ensnared me right away. I love dark and twisted reads. I got through the first four chapters. Put the book down. Drank a big glass of wine and picked the book back up and finished it. I am hopelessly addicted. There are moments I caught myself holding my breath or covering my mouth. The best way I can describe this author is if Stephen King and Sylvia Day had a dark love child , it would be named Marissa Honeycutt and its Auntie would be Ann Rice. After reading the first part, the warning book if you will , I immediately ordered the other five books on Rush delivery. I'm a new hardcore fan of Honeycutt

FTC Disclaimer: This book was provided by the Author in exchange for an honest review of the book. NO monetary compensation for this review or time has been provided. The opinions expressed in my reviews are my own.

I was honored enough to be a beta reader for this series and I fell in love with it right away. It's a very dark series, but so compelling that you can't help but find yourself following Anna further down the rabbit hole into the depths of depravity that await her.

In Part One, you only get a glimpse of what she's gone through and what is in store for her. But believe me, as you read it, you will cringe and begin to cheer her on in your head... and when the book is done, you will be frothing at the mouth for more.

Ms. Honeycutt writes so descriptively and creates a world so believable that you can't help but be drawn in and almost feel every lash of life that hits her characters. It's not quite yet up to Game of Thrones standards but believe me when I say there is a definite comparison to be made of just what hell they go through.

Beware the this CAN be a trigger for some people and others will rage against the author for writing such darkness and depravity, but it is the courage behind these words and the effort to share this story with others that make me love her as an author and support her any way I can. As said in the disclaimer at the beginning, I am not being paid or given any compensation to write this -- and this is just how strongly I believe in this book series.

Read it, beware that you'll be drawn in and your favorite characters will go through hell, but when you all come out of it together, it will be well worth the ride.

I was given a copy by author for an honest review

Enslaved is the first part in The Life of Anna.

I read all the warnings and was contemplating on reading this because of how dark it was. I can honestly say I am glad I got the chance to read about Anna.

Enslaved is a very dark, eroticism, gut wrenching book. You will read about physical and emotional abuse, rape and group rape, sex with objects, violence and even death. There will be times when your crying your eyes out, or wanting to throw up because you can feel their pain.

The author did a fantastic job and it was very well written. She will completely mind screw you and you will be asking what the heck is happening.

I'm not going to say to much because I don't want to give anything away but I will say Anna becomes a sex slave at the age of 16. She is very well trained for 4 years by her Master Jake. On her 20th birthday she gets to move into the manor and becomes the mistress of Master Devin.

Being able to watch Anna's life unfold has been very disturbing but captures your attention from the beginning.
