One of the best things about this delightful collection of essays is that Rick Watson shows us the value of an examined life. It doesn't take long to read one, and then you're hooked on reading the next. He may be driving down the road, relaxing at the kitchen table, talking to a war veteran, or sitting on an old five-gallon paint can out by the barn. Wherever he goes, he takes the time to reflect on life. Thankfully, he has shared those reflections with us. You'll find something for every season of the year and every season of life in these pages. ~ Charles Kinnaird
Every person writing a newspaper column thinks he or she can turn those literary gems into a book. Most of the time, it is not a very good book. Well, Rick Watson's Life Changes, Just Breath, is, honestly, a book I did not want to put down.
Rick Watson's book IS the South and it IS America. Read it and feel good about life and how you fit into the big plan. ~ Thomas Wilson, retired newspaper publisher
I loved this book--but I love everything Rick Watson writes. He gives me the feeling I'm sitting on his porch, sharing a cup of coffee and visiting with him. I read it in one sitting. It wouldn't have been polite to leave before I had finished my coffee! ~ Author Fran Fischer
