A study of prehistoric man from the creationist perspective. Explaining life in the prehistoric time with scientific evidence, not just from Biblical stories-although it does include Biblical events (tower of Babel) and attributes creation to the creator, God (the God of Moses). Explains where the evolutionary ideas came from and their flaws on a scientific and rational level. Story and illustration are designed for kids up to the 6th or 8th grade level. (although it's great for adults to!)

This is a lovely book- IF- and this is a big IF- you believe in Creation Science. I bought it quickly when my 6 year old, who is very interested in the Ice Age, found it online. At a glance it looked wonderful. She loves it and is re-reading it as it is a very interesting depiction of life in the Ice Age. However, I picked it up one day and discovered, much to my dismay, that it is based on a Creationist need to connect the Bible with what science has found. This just simply isn't my belief and I had to explain the creation vs. evolution debate to my daughter. I respect their views and their right to publish them, but I so wish I had read the description. Perhaps the depiction of life and culture may be accurate, but who knows since the book takes every opportunity to plug in Creation Science views that just don't sound logical to me. It was hard to determine how many stars to give. At first I thought only 1 or 2 because I was so disappointed in the view point. But if you are looking for such a book, it would be wonderful, and in all fairness I did not read the description very well.

Mike Oard is a scholar who has done much geologic field work. Having done field work with him, I can testify to the fact that he pays careful attention to detail, and is very skillful in separating fact from interpretation. In this work he goes outside the mental boxes of conventional uniformitarian geology, and shows the consequences, upon humans, of a single Ice Age.

A fine speculative but scholarly tale of Japethites as they spread accross Europe and face the ice age. Deals with anthropology from a truly Biblical perspective. Appendix is more advanced, dealing with the climatology and geology of the ONE ice age. Great book for the Christian home.

If I had to choose just one book to help me understand and explain the post-flood world to my children, this would be it. I have used this book so many times in the course of my homeschooling that I consider it invaluable.

Life in the Great Ice Age is so accessible and usable and the story is just fascinating. What did the world look like after the flood? What does the ice age have to do with it? What caused the ice age? How did people live and how come they looked so different? It is such a good book!

The second part of this book covers some intriguing subjects. What was the climate like? What does cave art tell us? How about animals that are now extinct? Did they live alongside man? How do we as Christians deal with Neanderthals? Did ancient man use a land bridge to get from continent to continent as they migrated? There are so many good questions addressed here with very reasonable answers.

This is unabashedly creationist in its message and the book is perfect for parents as well as children. I highly recommend it!

This book was recommended to me for a middle school student, but I believe it is more appropriate for elementary school, up through 4th grade. We liked the story however and the art work was wonderful.

Absolutely the best history/science book out there for k-3. It integrates science and history effortlessly and all in a Biblical perspective. Use as a read aloud to learn about what the world was like after the flood.
