Most of the book is actually a work book. You start by identifying your problems or difficulties and you go on to fill out a page in each section. It was a bit of a shock when I saw the size of the list of difficulties I came up with. I guess I was really in denial. As I worked through this the first time, I found knew the answer to an unanswerable delema before I even finished the process. I remained a bit skeptical but after further use have found that this process really does work. It was a relief to see that this is not something that requires a daily commitment. It is a very effective tool and the more you use it, the more you will profit from it. Initially, I wanted to jump in and solve all of my problems in one shot but found I need to take it slow to affect real change.
This would not be an honest review without presenting the cons. There were a few typos, not a big deal but a pet peeve of mine. The different workbook sections are not collated meaning you have to flip to each chapter to work on the same problem. I would love to see Dr Wise put out a wire bound workbook where the work pages are collated. It leaves me wanting to know more but I think this is a good. Dr Wise gives us just the information we need to focus on at the moment.
I don't expect to become a day to day journaler but I do believe that this is something I will return to time and time again. I have purchase more of these for gifts and I hope to see more books like this from Dr. Wise in the future.
