I am a normal guy from the Midwestern U.S. in his early 30's whose life was once a constant struggle against extreme social anxiety and panic attacks. For over five years I battled my own scary thoughts, anxious feelings and worries that I could lose control of myself and my mind at any given moment.
Like many of the tens of millions in the U.S. who suffer from debilitating anxiety (and many more worldwide), I felt completely lost and hopeless at times. For years I turned to self-medication through alcohol, and doctors who prescribed just about every anti-anxiety and antidepressant medication on the market. I felt the medication numbed me both emotionally and physically, and worst of all - I was still anxious and having panic attacks! There had to be another way to beat anxiety.
My Personal Journey towards Freedom I spent years reading every book I could find on the subject of panic attacks, anxiety and psychology. I experimented with different therapies and mental-conditioning exercises, and explored various spiritual and religious approaches to life in the hopes of finding something that would help me.
I was determined to fix my anxiety problems without the use of any prescription medication or traditional talk therapy. Everything I learned and applied to my own life has completely changed me forever. I am free from panic attacks and my social anxiety problems, and have a new zest and excitement for life that I previously never thought I could achieve.
I wrote this book to help others free themselves from the shackles of panic attacks and anxiety, and to once again live a real life. I want everyone out there who is suffering to take the same journey towards freedom that I have taken, and to once again realize how amazing and wonderful life really is. You can put your life back together and live without the constant fears and worries that plague your mind now. Just imagine that!
No matter how bad off you feel you are, there is always hope. On many occasions I was just about ready to give up on life, feeling incredibly low, frustrated and hopeless. Yet I still was able to recover and create a new life full of hope and excitement for the future. I know you can do the same, and am hopeful that this book can help you along your journey towards freedom.

I have been struggling with Anxiety/Panic attacks since I was a teenager. I have read so many books, Listen to tons of CD's and bought an expensive Video program. None have ever helped me. Steves books is so well written, I read half the book the first night. Even thou I knew I wasnt the only one who struggled with Anxiety,this book shed a new light for me. I have yet to read a book where the Author so totally described my symptoms and understood what I am going thru. I am so glad I bought this book. Yesterday during a snow storm we were out doing errands I tried Steves breathing technique.. IT worked! I had gotten myself so worked up about the snow and fearing the "WHAT IFS" we slid off the road~~ I wasnt sure how I would ever make it home. I then started breathing as Steve says in the books and for the first time in my life,, I was able to get my anixety attack under control. Thank you Steve for writing this book. I highly recommend this bookfor anyone who is struggling with anxiety.
THIS ONE is the real thing. It provides simple yet effective techniques by someone that has been there. Its brutally honest and I related to what the author had been through as if he was writing MY STORY. I was in tears for most of it. I am so glad someone had the courage to write this, because I have lived with this disorder in shame and secrecy.
This book gives me hope and encourages me on bad days. I refer to it again and again.
If you are reading these reviews, then you probably are searching for some relief from HORRENDOUS anxiety. ITS HERE!!!!!! Cant recommend HIGHLY ENOUGH!!!!!
