"Lisa Bergren gets it! Navigating the joys and challenges of motherhood takes heart, prayer, and a few good laughs, which Lisa provides. She's encouraged me to look beyond my role of mom and stepmom and actually see myself again. Wow, what an epiphany!"--Carolyn Castleberry, cohost of CBN's Living the Life on ABC Family Channel and author of It's About Time!
"Lisa Bergren put to words what I'd always felt as a mom but was not always able to verbalize. This book makes me feel as if I belong to a special club. Your relationship with your husband changes because you see yourself different now. You are not just a wife but a caretaker of your child. You have to make sure you don't become the caretaker of your husband as well. The book offers some great suggestions on how to work on your relationship with your husband without having to give up taking care of your children.
Relationships with your friends will change the most dramatically. You will not have the free time you had before to talk on the phone, email or even hang out together. There are ways presented in the book to help you maintain these friendships without sacrificing your family time.
This book shows you how to priorities your time as a Mom so that all your relationships stay healthy.
I was given this book by [...] to review
There are chapters on remembering to take care of you, giving time to your marriage, making time for friends, keeping up with the world, and learning more about God. I especially liked the chapters on taking care of yourself and your marriage. I've reread the marriage chapter several times because there are so many pearls of wisdom and down to earth ideas in it. Also of particular interest is the section on Internet friends.
Buy this for yourself; your mental health, your husband, your friends - and ultimately, your children - will thank you for it! Or, buy this for the moms you know. It's sure to give them something to chew on that, if implemented, will change their life for the positive.
What makes this book special is that is it simple to read, yet is really relevant for all Moms who have young children.
Any church or Christian group (doesn't have to be a MOPS group), could use this book to begin a Young Mom's Bible study or support group. It really gives a lot of discussion points and things to think about to strengthen your relationship with your family and God, while still taking care of yourself.
