His talent is showcased here well. The sheer amount of work is amazing and you begin to understand that here is someone who loves the process of making art.
Well above nostalgia and syrupy sentimentalism, "Life On The Stoop" presents a wonderfully straightforward glimpse into the life and times of one New York neighborhood during the early part of the 20th century.
Phil Bracco's picture-story of his early years in Brooklyn unveils a beautiful interconnectedness of all the neighborhood families, a quality nearly extinct in our modern communities.
Truly a work of art - it makes me want to be a better neighbor, friend, and a part of something bigger.
But the collection of Illustrated stories will be enjoyed by readers of all Ages.
It also reminded me of my visit to New York many years ago.
Phil's artwork is delightfully detailed - invariable I see something I missed when I looked previously.
It will surely be on the Coffee Table more than in a Book Case!
