My favorite part is the poem, which is introduced in Chapter 2 and discussed in Chapter 3. The feeling while reading this poem is like a hose filled with light, pouring into your heart. I was in awe! The author doesn't normally use this kind of poetic language in his other books. This book is a one-of-a-kind in all of Master Okawa's 2100+ books to date. Whenever I need extra inspiration, I know where I can turn for soul-touching words.
Another cool thing about this book, is that it is inspired by Ameno Minakanushi, a central god of the Shinto religion. For American people, or just those who have little knowledge about Shinto, this book resembles New Thought. Its focus is the belief that Light exists, where darkness is merely the absence of Light. This Light is the Light of God, which creates everything. In all, this book will give you hope and inspiration to accomplish your dreams and ideals. I loved it!
That is the message of chapter 1 of this book. How many of us realize the darkness we have been living in? There was once a time when the light of the sun was constantly with us, humanity, as a whole, further back than any of us can remember, but now it is covered.
However, it is not forgotten.
The very essence of a purely spiritual life emanates from the words of this book.
In this book is the courage of devotion to the truth, the wisdom of steady enlightenment, the humility of selfless service. It contains these ideals, in the form of poems and teachings based on the true life of great historical figures who are also high spirits, like Ameno Minakanushi, Yamato Takeru, and Joan of Arc.
Interspersed are pages devoted to suggestions for the reader's contemplation, that create an immediate interaction with the teachings being conveyed.
It all flows in a logical and artful way.
Truly it is beautiful and magnificent.
