Life factory 22-ounce (650 ml) reusable glass water bottles offer a large capacity to quench a big thirst while providing an excellent alternative to disposable plastic bottles. These innovative bottles feature durable glass construction that offers pure taste with no chemical leaching. The bottle's glass is surrounded in a patented silicone sleeve that both protects against breakage and provides a comfortable, non-slip gripping surface. The bottle also features a wide-mouth opening making it easy to fill with ice cubes, pieces of fruit, or drink mixes and powders. The Classic Cap offers leak-proof security. The cap screws on tight to the bottle and a silicone gasket creates a positive seal to lock liquids in. The Classic Cap has a carry handle on top that makes it easy to tote the bottle. For easy care, the silicone sleeve and bottle can be washed together. All components of the bottle are dishwasher safe. It is recommended to wash the cap on the top rack. The cap is constructed of BPA/BPS-free polypropylene (PP#5) with no phthalates, PVC, or polycarbonates. All Life factory components are made in the USA or Europe and all products are assembled in the USA.

I loved my previous life factory bottle however I have bad habit of leaving my bottle at different spots in the house (coffee table, dining table, kitchen counter, bathroom you name it!). My cat is a devious little soul who loves to knock down my bottle every chance she gets. My previous lifefactory glass bottle survived my cat’s sneaky plots many times before giving up falling from my dining table. Lifefactory glass is strong to hold up minor falls but there was no chance the bottle could have survived that fall. It was just too high! So I decided to look for my other options to get a stronger glass bottle and researched with all my power on many different websites. However, after all my extensive analysis and losing some hair from my head I concluded Lifefactory has the best quality glass out there for the price I pay.
So if you share your house with a crafty cat or are looking a glass bottle that fits all you needs (strength, looks, size etc. etc.) than this is the bottle! Also, this version of the cap is much sturdier than the other lifefactory bottle caps, the flip cap and straw cap. I have never had to replace the cap of my bottle. Thumbs up if this review was helpful.
However, my product developed a circular crack on the bottom of the glass after being run through my dishwasher on the 31st day of ownership. I've never experienced this problem with any similar glass products. Thermal shock should have been, relatively, minimal- the bottle was room temperature when I ran the dishwasher. The bottle's location in the dishwasher rack placed it far from damaging objects. While I typically hand washed my bottle, I decided for the second time to throw it in with the semi-nightly load.
Since lifefactory only accepts returns for bottles bought on its site (a fact I did not know until now 😢), and since amazon's return policy is only for the first 30 days, I am SOL. Three stars are are deducted for the bottle's poor tolerance for dishwashing, and restrictive return policies. While the bottles may generally be dishwasher safe, my anecdotal experience is that this is the lone glass product to break in my dishwasher since it was purchased in 2011. My case may be a fluke, but I don't know if I want to repeat the trial.
I gave the product two stars for its design and easy to use lid.
-Solid construction, glass feels thick.
-Lid is thick and the handle on it is perfect for a carabiner and attaches great to my bag
-Lid has a great seal, I never worry about it in my bag.
-Silicone webbing is great for gripping and seems to be doing it's job at supplying some damage protection.
-Even if it does break silicone looks like it will keep all the large shards together to minimize a mess.
-Easy to fill from any container
-Usually doesn't fit into most standard cup holders (cars, strollers, child step2 push car)
Mostly, I wanted all glass on the 'drinking surface' and a lid with no hidden spaces for yuck to accumulate (gick) or metal. Check!
I also wanted: large size, wide mouth and simple lid for easy cleaning, thick glass for a bit of insulation and durability, and a silicone cover instead of the 'silikote' (because though I like the idea, I keep seeing reviews of it flaking off).
It's wide enough to not be too tippy, though it doesn't fit in my car cupholder. The silicone, when warm from washing, can be slid down and stretched enough to dry underneath. (It's too hard for me to remove and replace, but this may be more my coordination.) The seal at the top of the lid doesn't seem like it's going to disintegrate right away, at least after a month of daily use -- I'll update if it does.
Some have mentioned leaking, but if it's tightly closed and the lid on correctly, mine doesn't. If the lid's not on quite firmly, it does leak when tipped over.
Problems: I haven't dropped it, but I'm not sure how durable it will be. (This isn't a big deal for me: I don't have pets or kids and don't travel a lot.) It can be a little dribbly/sloshy when taking a big swig, but this is due more to the combo of the wide opening and the sloppy drinker. <__<
As some have said, it can be easy to cross-thread, but for me that was just getting used to it.
It's a simple, big water bottle and I hope it lasts, because it's the best I've found.
