I read through plenty of these reviews and saw how others received their tables damaged, still, I crossed my fingers and hit the buy button. A few days later I received my box with one of the ends almost completely open and exposing some of the table. Of course upon further inspection two of the edges were dinged up. I didn't feel like playing the return game with this large of an item, but I'm definitely disappointed about how poorly it was boxed.
Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. The table comes in 7 big chunks and you just have to assemble it in a pretty logical manner. If you've assembled any Ikea furniture, you're skilled enough to assemble this. All you need is a Phillips screw driver. After getting this put together ( 15 minutes ? ) I was pleasantly surprised at the size, its little larger than I expected. I was debating building my own wood picnic table or buying one of these and at this point, I'd definitely just prefer to buy another of these tables to waste any time trying to assemble a heavy wood table.
I hope it lasts a few years.
