I bought this in April 2017, due for delivery May 3/17 but trucking co. called me to inform delivery date. I asked if can be delivered earlier. They called me back in 24 hrs. to set up my available date for delivery w/c is April 12.
We dug on April 15 (18 X 20 X 48 in.) accordingly. It took us 5 hrs. The next day pour cement one bag at a time using wheel barrow & used 22 bags of 60 lbs. Make sure you mixed with enough water for easy mixing & dumping into the hole. After 24 in. of cement place the rebar ( 36 in.) in diamond shape (not squared per manual) because the J-bolt (21 in. long)is squared position (to avoid hitting it at the bottom). I leveled cement on the top of the wooden frame then we placed the J-bolt - level it so that its a lot easier to adjust when pole is about to attach...waited the next weekend.
We assembled the pole & the rest of the attachments. It took us 6 hours because some parts are not in the same packaging so we have to look for it. (read the instructions carefully as saying goes "if you know how to read you can cook". By the way we used the crate as a table to hold the pole while assembling (5 in. X 5 in. massive size 1 pc. pole!) After fully assembled myself & my two boys not enough strength to lift it because its too heavy. Combined our wt. 605 lbs. we need two more. They called their friends so we have 5 persons w/ approx. 1000 lbs. The pole base is well positioned right in front of the 2 bolts that will receive the pole base. They lifted it while I'm manning the pole base to I could place the nuts right away. No sweat when lifted its like cotton candy! I placed all nuts & tightened & used level in 4 sides of the pole base plate. Don't get crazy to zero in the level. Then installed the hoops with a proper technique w/c is not easy bcoz its kind of tight, but you must used a big screw driver to push the rim spring to give way to your washer & bolt. We end up almost sunset. Turn on the backyard daylight & boom ! we're like in the park! We installed this hoops in my backyard for privacy it was paved (35 ft. X 35 ft.) last year for this project.
My only recommendation is buy the 60" in. or 72' in. board bcoz. I realized at ten feet high, my 54":in. is kind of small. When I play I lower it to 8 ft. so I could dunk and hanged on the rim like a pro when they dunk! Great feeling...to add up I bought the NBA official basketball size 9.5" (composite leather).
I wish I could exchange my 54" to 72"...Lifetime or Amazon are you reading this? Pls. contact me if possible :)
Finally, if I could do it I'm an accountant, you can do it !!!
The hoop system itself is AWESOME, though!
