I have read a long shelf of books on self-improvement and this one stands out for its pithy and immediately useful advice.
And, yes, by all means, this book should certainly prove inspiring to the teenagers for whom it was written. Give copies of Liftoff to all the teens and young adults you care about! I have.
This book is a "must" for any teen or parents with a teen. It will change your life!
As Ilene points out, teens are challenged by so much that they need help to see through the thick of forest of life's turmoil. Full of inspirational advice and written from the perspective of someone who understands the reality of what young people are going through, LIFTOFF is for teens, moms and dads so they can work together in brining the family closer together, setting up a future that is full of hope and better living. I highly recommend LIFTOFF to all families out there raising young people so you can provide them with the insight and support they need to navigate through life.
Somewhere towards the end of the Self-Empowerment Guide, the author mentions "When we’re disappointed, we habitually blame reality for not living up to our expectations." That seems to be a stumbling block for many teens as they start to face the realities of life. The author teases out how 'contradictions' may come about and how to deal with these apparent contradictions in our life.
This guide is useful reading for teens to get a better perspective on how to deal with many life challenges.
I really like the reality checks throughout the book. Great read.
With its helpful worksheets and checklists, Liftoff offers young readers several challenges along with the encouragement to meet them. This book has the potential not just to inspire those seriously looking for a happy adulthood, but also give them the tools to move forward. The author's enthusiasm for her subject glows from every page, and I found myself carried along with her positive outlook.
Really enjoyable read. Liftoff is mixed with practical advice and actions interlaced with author’s personal experience which made reading this book enjoyable and thought provoking. This is a great book to not only to help teens by empowering them with positive attitude, the right tools and power to take control of their lives but for anyone.
Personally the Chapter on ‘You have Job1. Job 1 is the job you can do – really helped me with a timely reminder to concentrate on the one job at hand. Thank you Ilene Skeen
