This is such an awesome series and if you have not read even one book in this series yet I suggest you get going. Marie Force is an amazing writer and you will fall in love with each and every book that she has written.
One of the main things I love about this series is that we get to catch up with pretty much everyone from the island and you are not left wondering what is going on with them.
In this book it is the same way. We get to take Mallory's journey to come to terms with what her mother did by keeping her father from her for almost forty years. This is an amazing family and I really feel her pain about wanting the things she missed out on when she was growing up because it seemed like they had an amazing childhood and she really missed out on a lot.
She is not sure if she is just going to be there for the summer or if she is going to stay longer. If it was me I would want to stay longer just for the fact that my amazing family is there and I would not want to miss out on any more of the memories that they will make. She was offered a job over the summer and even after the summer was over she was offered another job. It would keep her on the island with the rest of her family. And not to mention keep her there with the very hot doctor that has eyes for only her.
I love how the story unfolds and that we get to witness the birth of the twins, and Dan and Kara's wedding. I love being able to be a part of all of those things and Marie makes it seem so real. I laughed and I cried in this book. Well, if I am being honest I laugh and cry in just about all of them.
If you are looking for an escape into what seems like a real life away from your own I suggest you pick up this series.
I also love the fact that she went and talked to her uncle about what has been bothering her and he kind of helped her see what she would be missing if she left. And what she could be giving up in not following her heart with Quinn.
And you can not have one of her books without Ned's wisdom in it. He really does help her see that even if she moves she will still have times that she is not a part of the memories because she will not be here to share them. I think it was Ned more than anything that got her to see that her life was on the island and with the man that she loved. I am also glad that she didn't let Quinn push her away after he had his second accident.
Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I do.
Until Next Time: Happy Reading.
Each book is a standalone that you can read in any order but is a lot more fun if read in order, starting with book one. Each book, after the first one, has recurring characters that you have come to know and love.
Mallory is struggling to come to terms with the fact that her wonderful, loving mother kept her and her father apart for almost 40 years, only telling her about him in a letter after her death. She has now had the whole, boisterous, do anything for you, love you to death McCarthy family in her life for about a year and she couldn't be happier. But at the same time she is dealing with repressed anger at her mother plus she just got laid off from her job that she dedicated the last 12 years of her life to. Needing to feel loved and wanted she heads to Gansett Island to be with that incredible McCarthy clan.
Quinn is a medically discharged, military trauma surgeon that has come to Gansett Island to run the new long term medical facility at his brother's request.
Almost from the moment Mallory and Quinn meet, the sparks fly. After running into each other a few times, Quinn invites her to dinner and she happily accepts. While the attraction is real and strong, they each have a lot of baggage they are trying to deal with. Are they ready to explore what is happening between them or are they too mired in the past to see what could be?
In this latest Gansett Island book, you don't just have Mallory and Quinn's story. You also get to spend time with beloved past characters and see what is happening in their lives. You have a birth and a wedding to look forward to and a bit of past drama to wrap up. You also have the love, loyalty, family and friendship, you have come to know and love.
Welcome back to the island, I hope you enjoy your stay!!
Mallory has returned to Gansett island, after losing her job as a nurse. This unexpected event ,due to downsizing ,opens up the opportunity to learn more about her father and the large family she never knew growing up.She only discovered her father’s name after her mother’s death.
Here on Gansett Insland she connects with the mysterious Quinn, when they both come to the aid of a victim of a motorcycle crash. Quinn has come to Gansett Island to recover from his devastating military accident.
Mallory and Quinn’s lives are about to become entwined ! Even before they learn that they are both in the medical profession ,with the same birthday, who have gone down previously self-destructive paths .You know this first meeting is a new beginning. The usual obstacles to a new relationship rear up, but they quickly find their steamy passion, as they move forward. I love the complicated family relationships and the intertwining lives of the people of Gansett Island . This is a wonderful fast moving series . You really need to start with book 1 and discover the continuing the stories of the lovable characters on the Island.
