So Haszard is determined to find out who kills his friend, which takes him on a wild ride that he will never forget. Hasz is known for sticking his nose into things that put him in hot-water. As the story progresses, so does Hasz's love-life and humor. Life becomes more and more dangerous for Hasz and attempts on his life seem to keep coming. He meets the woman of his "dreams." Whatever, I think she is hiding something, but if she is you don't find it out in the first book. Author Kevin E. Hatt did an amazing job with the first book in the Haszard series. The first book had a little bit of romance with elements of adventure and humor. I loved Hasz with his witty and snarky ways. Reminds me of someone I know. Author Hatt did such a wonderful job writing and building the world of our Haszard. I enjoyed this book. 5 stars, bravo! You are an amazingly talented writer.
The author has spun a crime mystery made highly engaging with the addition of black comedy and romance to boot.
The story is told in first person by Haz. He finds out his ex-girlfriend was murdered and sets out to unravel the mystery.
There are plenty of great characters he interacts with along the way such as the ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend who has an interesting occupation. Haz also has his own share of trials and tribulations such as a girlfriend who just isn’t the best fit and other emotional baggage. These flaws make his character likable even though there were times I wished I could reach out and smack him when I saw he was about to have an open mouth, insert foot moment.
Excellent read that held my attention.
Determined to investigate the circumstances surrounding his friends' death, Haszard embarks on a wild ride of mystery, near-death encounters, and even a little bit of love.
A great plot with believable characters that readers will want to invest in. And despite the serious nature of the crimes at hand, the author kept it light and humorous enough to keep readers who enjoy a good laugh occupied. Easily a five star read! I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Pauline (nurse, Haz’s 1 night stand) had been found murdered.
Francie Roberts name came up.
Ed Loughmann (Security Company) next on the list. He was also going to help Haz solve the murder case.
Debbie & Haz broke up.
Norman another lead had turned up dead.
Sabrina became Haz’s next lover.
Haz later meets Sabrina’s family; Gina Jensen (mom) Alan Jensen (50+, dad), & Adelaide Jensen (sister, lesbian).
Haz had went to see Francie, her request. When he got to her place he found her dead.
DCI Fletcher wanted to talk with him again.
What was on the scrap of paper Ed later gave Haz?
Haz was also trying to locate The Ghost (drug dealer).
Will Haz solve the murders?
What else will he uncover along the way?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written who-dun-it crime mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge set of very unique/colorful characters to keep track of. This could also make another great who-dun-it crime mystery movie, or mini TV series. Continued on. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.
