Givers is a band made up of five friends from Lafayette, Louisiana - it should be stated that the music they make is simply an ongoing reflection of their bond. Givers brings you their first full-length, IN LIGHT, recorded during breaks from touring, which is a major priority of the band. IN LIGHT was mixed by Ben Allen (Cee-Lo, M.I.A., Matt & Kim, Animal Collective).

There are more than a few hints of the musical styles of Vampire Weekend, but honestly The Givers are something unique unto themselves and it is brilliant. I have musical tastes that run the gamut, but this is something fun and new that is truly unlike anything purely I have heard before. These are talented kids and they richly deserve your listening as you should and will love them as well.
Great new music and can only hope they show up here on tour sometime soon, to enjoy them live as well.
There are definitely things I don't like about it but ohhhh that guitar work on Noche Nada.... touche. If cavemen had played guitar, this would have been the first "back to back" solo humans performed with 80's rockstar hair, and OMFG did they get laid that night.
"Up Up Up" pissed me off even before I saw it on a Microsoft commercial. Auto-skip.
Overall. Five stars with the rest of these guys for this being a "refreshing" album.
POP MUSIC CAN BE COOL TOO BRAH.
Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to feel alive!
The tracks are all bursting with positive energy. The Givers jump from one catchy riff to the next with wild abandon. They're on to another idea long before you're finished tapping your foot to the previous one.
