For those of you who love the sound of a crisp and clean acoustic guitar and a soulful voice to go with it, this is a great album to own. This collection of HITS is not by any means the complete and definitive anthology of Jose Feliciano's Greatest works but is a great place to begin. After you listen to this CD in its enirety you will realize why this artist is so loved and respected by the masses. For the people that don't enough about this artist amazing talent and international appeal this set delivers to the maximum potential and provides the listener a beautiful and rewarding listening experience. Jose is the kind of musician/performer that once you have listen to his easygoing layback style of singing you will be immediately hooked on what has been universally known for more than 30+ years as the Feliciano sound. This album include's four of Jose's greatest classics that are an absolute MUST to become more familiar with this artist's classic repertoire. They are LIGHT MY FIRE, the only song in pop history to go to #1 twice. The Doors original in 1967 and Feliciano's colossal remake in 1968. CALIFORNIA DREAMIN, another remake of a classic by the Mamas and The Papas. CHICO AND THE MAN, the song that Jose wrote and performed for the popular TV sitcom of the same name starring the late Freddie Prinze. Last but certainly not least RAIN, another Feliciano composition who is a favorite among his many fans (myself included). The rest of the album's tracks are superbly performed and a few of them make their debut for the first time on CD. One of my favorites AND THE FEELING'S GOOD from the fantastic LP of the same name release in 1974, is a true Feliciano classic in my opinion.Read more ›

This is a wonderful collection of songs and everyone of them is a gem. The superb artistry of Jose Feliciano is displayed in every song. I bought this CD because as everyone already knows from my other reviews I love Jose Feliciano and has been a huge fan of his for many years. The instrumentals on this CD are so terrific and as usual they are brilliantly performed by the master himself. This is the only CD that you will be able to find Jose's heartfelt rendition of "I Only Want To Say" which was originally written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice for the popular Rock Opera that rocked Broadway in the 1970's Jesus Christ Superstar. Feliciano is excellent playing such instrumental classics as "Fireworks" a classical composition that Handel wrote and Jose transcribed on guitar. The same thing goes for "Manha De Carnaval" very simple and sweet along with a Feliciano classic "Pegao" which is great. Jose also does a fantastic rendition of "Guantanamera" a song that for centuries has become another Cuban anthem. This traditional song was included in the album ALIVE ALIVE-O that Jose recorded in London in 1969 and release to great success in 1970. This is a good collection although is not complete with all the great Feliciano hits but it is a good place start if you're just now descovering the superb vocal and guitar talents of Jose Feliciano.

"Feliciano!" remains the place to begin, but this is an ideal supplement. Soulful vocals, impressive guitar work (check out the excerpt from Handel's "Fireworks"!), fine song selection. Only two tracks ("There's Always Something..." and "Light My Fire") overlap with "Feliciano!", and the selections here flow a bit better as one piece, in my opinion, than some of the greatest hits CDs. If you only know Jose Feliciano from "Light My Fire" and "Feliz Navidad", you have some happy listening ahead!

This CD melds together, not only his greatest hit songs, but a good variety of instrumental classics that portray Jose's stylish guitar playing. He is one of the greatest classical guitarist around and still performs...catch him if you can, but this CD is it!

I have always liked Jose Feliciano and somehow escaped getting one of his albums. I listened to this one with all my favorite songs on Amazon Prime Music and was so hooked that I wanted to have the privilege of downloading this to my computer and MP3 player.

I would say that if you like Jose, you will not be disappointed with these songs. I know I enjoy 90% of them.

This album contains ballads, upbeat latino music, commercial latino music, and some of the best guitar instrumentals i have ever heard. Joses rendition of elton johns "daniel" makes the song sound like it was written to include a spanish guitarist. well worth purchasing over any other american latin album, on par with santanas greatests hits

Last heard Jose Feliciano playing "By the time I get to Phoenix" in the 60s and have been trying on and off to get this recording. He has matured wonderfully and can really make that guitar talk.
