This book brings us the story of Aster, a minotaur, and Becca, a woman who has been offered a job and is now effectively a prisoner of a man named Alex Scar. Who is this guy and why is she his prisoner? What happens that causes her to flee? How does she get away? What happens after she does get away? Does she ever tell Aster what happened, who/what she's running from? What happens between them when he finally agrees to take the Harley into the shop for her? Does Alex find her? This is a tale of shifter romance, at least on one side. Aster has been looking for a woman that can handle all of him. Is Becca that woman? This story is filled with highs and lows. It is well written and was a joy to read. Check it out. I definitely am planning to find more of Rachel's books and read them. I need to see if there are more Woodland Creek books. This was fun!
There was only one bit of confusion that I had and that was when Shannon's name became Katie around the time Jamie died.

I loved the characters in the book, loved the way Shadow was so into Blue and never hid behind some machismo BS to look like a tough guy, he LOVED him some Blue and he was willing to fight for her and their relationship. I I also liked this book bc the characters had more depth and the plot was a lot more intricate.
The only thing I didn't like was when Shadow referred to Blue as a "good girl" whenever she was submissive to him. She was so independent and strong it would seem that she wouldn't like to be referred to as a little girl, she is a grown-A woman. I do realize this is an MC book where the patriarchy and macho stuff is over the top but it still seemed out of character to me.
I can't wait to read Dixie's story, I am glad that the author is going to address the issue of race in the MC world. Good read!
I love the story between Blue and Shadow, the complicated family dynamics and the push and pull between someone choosing their own happiness or the appeasement of others. I read this book in less than 24 hours, and believe me, I am looking forward to Dixie Rose's story too.
This is a 5 star read that will keep you on your toes. It has everything: drama, angst, conflict, family secrets but more than that, it has an honest to goodness love story that will pull at your heartstrings. I loved this book! ❤️
I do look forward to the next book in the series. Hopefully it will b as great as the first.
Shadow, a KOS enforcer, is Bolton’s father and the man Blue has always wanted. Calla is Blue’s older sister, Bolton’s mother and Shadow’s ex, but most of all she’s and evil bitch.
This is a story of unrequited love, secrets, redemption and the struggle to find your own path in a world of angst, intrigue and violence.
This is the second book in this series, and I’m liking it a lot. Putting this author on my follow list for sure.
