Interesting characters, with a weird plot and motive for Carl's slide into the dark sociopathic side of his life. Could not believe 'smart' Kinsey engaged in unprotected sex while she was financially struggling to pay off her bills. Did she not think of the consequences of feeding another mouth while working three jobs, or did she deliberately plan to trap Logan into fatherhood? Loved Scott and Megan's spiritual romantic reunion. An Okay Read.
I also found the relationship a little hard to take, as Logan treats Kinsey badly for a long time. He's also pretty blase when it comes to one of the characters who may be a sexual predator (and even a serial killer), especially considering that his reason for coming to the town was to find out what happened to his sister. Finally, I find the behavior of some of the characters hard to believe, such as...
*Spoiler alert: The fact that so many young women from the small town have disappeared over the years and NO ONE thought it suspicious?
Troy grew up in this same small town, and half of the residents immediately believe him to be guilty? Despite the fact that he's only ever been generous and helpful?
I doubt I'll be reading more from this series.

It's an interesting concept whether you believe in the afterlife, spirits or not, it's entertaining and thought provoking.
